긍정적 아동발달을 위해서는 어머니의 양육죄책감을 경감시키는 것이 중요한 이유는? Gnezda,1989). 어머니의 양육죄책감에 관한 많은 선행연구들은 양육 죄책감이 부정적인 양육행동과 높은 관련이 있음을 보고한다 (I. Jang, 2001; M. Kim, 2011; Y. Kim, 2004; H. Park & H. Moon, 2012). 즉, 양육죄책감은 어머니의 자존감을 낮추고, 긴장감이나 잘못한 행동에 대한 후회, 양심의 가책 등을 느끼게 하여 어머니의 심리적 건강을 저해할 수 있으며, 결국 자녀에게 부정적 영향을 미친다는 것이다. 따라서 긍정적 아동발달을 위해서는 어머니의 양육죄책감을 경감시키는 것 이 중요하다고 주장한다.
