국내 굴 양식장이 밀집한 통영 지역의 해양 오염 실태는? | 하지만 이제까지 통영 지역의 해변 조사가 거의 이뤄지지 않아 이를 과학적으로 증명한 적이 없었다. 본 연구에서는 2013년 가을 통영 지역 13개 해변에서 쓰레기 조사를 통해양식장 스티로폼 부자 쓰레기로 인한 해양 오염이 심각함을 보였다. 조사 결과 대형쓰레기의 경우 평균 약 30개/m2로서, 통영지역은 다른 나라는 물론 우리 나라의 다른 지역에 비해서도 해변의 쓰레기 밀도가 매우 높았다. 특히 부서지지 않아서 원래 형태를 알아 볼 수 있는 스티로폼 완제품 쓰레기를 부자와 부자외 기타 완제품으로 나눌 때, 부자쓰레기는 갯수의 92.6%를 차지하여, 스티로폼 쓰레기의 대부분은 부자에서 기인하였음이 밝혀졌다. |
