Ubiquitous Healthcare(u-Healthcare)란 홈네트워크 장치 또는 PDA같은 휴대용 장치의 정보통신기술을 의료분야에 적용해 환자를 실시간 모니터링하여 환자가 시간, 공간의 제약을 벗어나 병원의 의료서비스를 받도록 하는 것이다(Park & Hwangbo 2011; Kim 등 2013). 최근에 여러 나라에서 u-Health제도를 도입하면서 의료기관을 방문하지 않고 환자가 자신의 생활터 에서도 의료서비스를 받을 수 있게 되었다.
만성질환의 증가는 무엇의 영향 때문인가? 1%) 등 만성질환 유병률이 높게 나타나고 있다(Ministry of Health and Welfare, Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2011). 만성질환의 증가는 서구화된 식생활로 인한 영양불균형과 신체활동 감소의 영향이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 질환의 예방과 치료를 위해 영양관리 중요성이 증가하고 있으며 전문적인 영양관리 서비스 기관과 도구가 늘고 있는 추세이다.
