문제 정의
본 연구에서는 여러 분야의 치료적 음악중재에서 중복되어 있는 대상으로 조현병을 선택하고 2000년 이후 음악치료연구의 전반적인 내용에 대한 분석과 추가로 음악중재에 대한 분석을 실시하고자 하며 연구문제는 다음과 같다.

자료검색은 학술자료 검색이 가능한 Google scholar, PubMed, EBSCOhost, PsycInfo, ProQuest, Scopus, Wiley Online Library, Cochrane Library, CINAHL에서 하였으며, 핵심 주제어는 “Schizophrenia”, “Music”, “Intervention”, “therapy”로 핵심주제어와 관련 유사어를 최대한 포함하기 위하여 *부호를 조합하여 “Schizophreni*”, “music*”, “therapeutic*” 등으로 확장 검색하였다.
또한 “music listening”, “music playing”, “improvisation”, “singing” 등의 음악활동을 검색어로 하여 음악중재의 구체적 방법을 포함한 논문도 확인하였다.
최종 선정한 18개의 논문 분석을 위해 1차로는 연구 설계, 중재환경, 참여자 정보, 음악중재 이외의 처치, 측정도구, 치료결과를 기준으로 분석하였고([Table 1] 참조), 음악중재의 세부 내용확인을 위해서 2차 분석으로 중재프로그램 시행자, 세션 형태, 회기수, 주기, 소요시간, 프로토콜 유무, 음악중재 활동의 종류, 음악사용의 이유에 대해 분석하였다.
총 기간은 최소 2주에서 최대 4개월까지, 회기 당 중재 시간은 10분에서 90분까지로 다양하였다([Table 4] 참조).

본 연구에서 선정한 18개의 연구의 연구방법으로는 동일 집단 내 사전-사후 비교 연구(n = 3), RCT 연구(n = 3), 실험-통제집단 사전사후 비교연구(n = 10), 세 집단 비교연구(n = 2)가 있었다. 무작위 여부에 관하여서는 18개 연구 중 10개의 연구에서는 참여자를 무작위 배정하였고, 무작위 배정을 하지 않은 1개의 연구를 포함하여 8개의 연구에서는 무작위 배정 여부가 명확히 기술되어 있지 않았다.

후속연구
본 연구의 제안점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구의 내용 및 절차에 있어서 구체적인 정보의 명시및 보완, 연구방법, 참여자 선정기준, 참여자의 동질성 확보를 위한 노력이 필요하다. 둘째, 음악 중재 연구에서 음악, 음악활동의 내용에 대한 구체적인 설명과 타당한 근거를 제시하여야 한다.
