마케팅적인 관점에서 항공사 이미지 마케팅의 큰 부분을 차지하는 것은? 대형 항공사와 차별화된 가격, 서비스를 중심으로 전개되는 저가 항공사의 부각은 세계 항공시장의 큰 지각변동을 일으키고 있으며, 학계에서도 국내 저가 항공사의 활성화와 경쟁력 강화를 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되었다. 대부분 항공시장 동향과 관련된 경쟁력 활성화 방안 등 마케팅적인 관점에서 접근된 연구로 항공사 이미지 마케팅의 큰 부분을 차지하는 승무원 유니폼에 관련된 연구가 필요하다고 하겠다. 승무원 유니폼 관련 연구는 국내 대형 항공사에 국한되어 디자인 개발, 색채 특성과 이미지 연구, 유니폼과 브랜드 이미지에 관한 연구가 이루어졌다(Chung, 2001; Jeong, Park, & Min, 2012; Lee, 2010; Lee, 2011; Lee, Kim, & Lee, 2005; Min, 2011).
