불소화 처리법, 표면처리, 첨착 활성탄소 제조 등의 연구는 활성탄소의 어떤 단점을 보완하기 위함인가? | 일반적으로 저농도 VOCs를 제거하기 위해서는 흡착법이 가장 높은 처리효율을 갖는 것으로 보고되고 있으며, 이때 많이 사용되고 있는 흡착재로는 활성탄소(activated carbon, AC)가 있다[1,8]. 활성탄소는 비표면적이 넓고(1000~1500 m2/g) 복잡한 기공형태를 가지고 있어 뛰어난 흡착성능을 갖지만, 파과점(breakthrough point)이 짧기 때문에 흡착재를 자주 교환해주어야 하는 단점이 있다[1]. 또한 활성탄소 교체주기를 지나칠 경우에는 VOCs가 직접 대기로 방출되는 위험이 따른다[1]. 이와 같은 활성탄소의 단점을 보완하기 위해 표면처리 및 첨착 활성탄소 제조 등의 다양한 연구가 이루어지고 있으며[9-13], 그중에서도 불소화(fluorination) 처리법은 상온에서 반응할 수 있고[14], 재료의 기공 부피 조절이 가능하기 때문에 많은 분야에서 다양하게 이용되고 있다[15-17]. |
