본 연구는 노인의 자살생각 관련 위험요인을 파악할 목적으로 국민건강영양조사 제6기 1차년도(2013) 자료를 이용하여 2차 자료 분석을 하였다. 65세 이상 노인 1,201명의 자료를 SPSS 22.0 버전으로 카이제곱검정, t-검정, 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 대상자의 7.7%가 자살생각을 한 적이 있었으며, 노인의 자살생각과 관련된 위험요인으로 우울과 스트레스 및 활동 제한이 확인되었다. 즉 우울감을 느끼는 경우 4.44배(CI=2.66~7.40), 스트레스를 많이 느끼는 경우 9.24배 (CI=3.48~24.45), 활동제한이 있을 때 2.31 배(CI=1.40~3.82) 자살생각이 높게 나타났다. 또한 노인의 교육수준, 독거, 배우자 유무, 경제활동 여부, 만성질환 수, 건강관련 삶의 질에 따라 자살생각이 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 노인의 자살생각을 낮추고 자살을 예방하기 위해 위험요인의 완화를 중재할 수 있는 융복합적인 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 연구를 제언한다.
