본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 청소년들의 성 행태와 성 경험을 파악하고, 성 경험에 영향을 미치는 예측요인을 규명하여 향후 성 건강 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구대상은 2012년 제8차 청소년 온라인건강행태조사에 참여한 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 3학년까지의 중 고등학생 74,186명이며, 기술통계, $X^2-test$, 복합표본 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과 성관계를 경험한 학생은 중 고등학교 청소년 중 4.3%였으며, 이중 남학생은 5.9%, 여학생은 2.6%로 남학생들의 성경험이 높게 나타났다. 성 경험에 영향을 미치는 유의한 변수는 남학생이 학교급, 아버지 학력, 사회경제적 상태, 아르바이트경험, 학교 성교육경험, 거주형태가 유의한 변수로 확인되었고, 여학생은 학교급, 학교유형(공학여부), 사회경제적 상태, 아르바이트 경험, 학교성교육경험, 거주형태가 유의한 변수로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과에서 남녀모두에서 성 경험에 승산비가 가장 컸던 변수는 아르바이트 경험으로 나타났다. 따라서 어른들에 의한 물리적 성폭력에 대한 심층적인 연구가 더 필요할 것으로 보이며 거절기술이나 의사소통기술과 같은 프로그램이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 또한 학교성교육을 받은 경험이 있는 남녀 청소년들이 학교 성교육을 받은 적이 없다고 응답한 학생에 비해 성관계 경험이 유의하게 적었던 만큼 학교에서의 성교육을 활성화하는 방안이 필요하다. 이러한 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년 아르바이트경험이 중 어른이나 혹은 물리적 힘에 의한 성폭력을 경험한 적이 있는 지에 대한 지표를 청소년 건강행태온라인조사에 반영하는 방안을 고려해 볼 필요가 있으며, 거절기술이나 의사결정 기술 등 생활기술을 반영한 학교성교육을 강화하는 것이 필요하다.

Methods: Data were analyzed from 74,186 participants who completed the 2012 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. Descriptive statistics were used to identify the condition of sexual behavior, and a complex sample logistic regression was used to examine the factors related to sexual behavior. Results: Data showed that 4.3% of adolescents had engaged in sexual intercourse (5.9% of males and 2.6% of females). According to the logistic regression analysis for complex samples, the school level, socioeconomic status, experience of part time work, and living with parents, were all factors associated with the decision to engage in sexual intercourse among boys and girls. In particular, sex education in schools was associated with a reduced risk of sexual intercourse. Conclusion: The results of this study highlight the importance of developing a program that focuses on enhancing sex education and promoting refusal and better decision-making skills in order to effectively reduce the likelihood of sexual experience among adolescents in Korea.

청소년들의 성 관계나 성 경험을 다룬 국내연구들은 지금까지 여자청소년을 대상으로 하거나[7, 18, 26] 남자청소년을 대상으로 한 연구[8, 13], 중학생을 대상으로 한 연구[9], 대학생을 대상으로 한 연구[5], 청소년건강행태 온라인조사 연구에서 일부 변수만을 다룬 연구[10, 11, 21], 그리고 2005년부터 2010년 사이의 연구[11, 18, 26]가 대부분이어서 청소년 모두의 특성을 반영한 성 관련 국내 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 청소년의 특성을 대표하는 국가기관이 시행한 청소년건강행태 온라인조사를 사용 하여 중학교부터 고등학교 남녀학생의 성 행태를 파악하고, 성 경험에 영향을 미치는 예측요인을 규명하여 청소년들의 성 건강 프로그램 개발에 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다.
제안 방법
본 연구의 대상은 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 3학년 학생으로 표본학교 800개 8만 명으로 하였으나 이중 797개교의 74,186명 학생의 자료를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 온라인 설문조사는 2012년 6월1일부터 7월17일까지로 학교 컴퓨터실에서 개인이 온라인에 접속하여 익명성이 보장되도록 실시하였다. 본 연구는 국민건강증진법(제 19조)을 근거한 정부 승인통계조사(승인번호 11757호)이며, 2005년부터 수행되어 교육과학기술부, 보건복지부 및 질병관리본부가 주관하고 제8차 ‘2012 청소년 건강행태 온라인조사’로 소요시간은 45～50분이다[12].
대상 데이터
표본추출과정은 모집단 층화, 표본 배분, 표본추출 단계로 이루어졌으며, 선정된 표본학교는 학년별로 1개 학급을 무작위로 추출하여 학급 학생 전원을 조사하였고, 장기결석이나 장애학생, 문자해독이 어려운 학생은 연구대상에서 제외하였다[12]. 본 연구의 대상은 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 3학년 학생으로 표본학교 800개 8만 명으로 하였으나 이중 797개교의 74,186명 학생의 자료를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 온라인 설문조사는 2012년 6월1일부터 7월17일까지로 학교 컴퓨터실에서 개인이 온라인에 접속하여 익명성이 보장되도록 실시하였다.

성 관련 행태는 기술통계와 복합표본 X2-test를 하였고, 학교특성과 가족특성 및 사회경제적 특성에 따른 성 관계 경험은 복합표본 X2-test를 실시하였다. 성 경험에 영향을 미치는 요인은 단변량 분석에서 p값이 0.05 미만인 변수를 투입하여 복합표본 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다.

성능/효과
남녀 모두 성 경험에 영향을 미친 변수 중에서 새로이 밝혀진 변수는 아르바이트 경험이었다. 이는 아르바이트 경험 학생이 흡연경험이나 음주경험이 유의하게 높고, 성 관계 경험도 높다는 연구결과[19-20, 27]와도 유사하다.
본 연구결과, 우리나라 중․고등학교 청소년들의 성경험은 전체적으로 4.3%였고 이중 남학생 5.9%. 여학생 2.6%로 나타났는데, 이는 기존의 국내 선행연구들과는 유사하였다[10, 21]. 본 조사의 성격과 비슷한 대규모 전국조사인 미국 청소년 위험행동조사(YRBS: Youth Risk Behavior Survey)자료와 성 경험 비율을 비교해 보면 [14], 미국 청소년은 46.

넷째, 학교성교육을 받은 학생들이 유의하게 성경험이 낮은 것으로 나왔으므로 학생들의 수준에 맞는 성 교육을 개발하고, 특히 남녀 특성을 고려한 체계적인 성교육이 요구된다.
둘째, 아르바이트 경험은 성 경험에 영향을 주는 주요 변수로 밝혀졌으므로 생활기술(거절기술 및 옹호기술, 자기주장 기술 등)을 강조한 자기관리역량을 함양시켜주는 프로그램이 필요하다.
셋째, 아르바이트경험 청소년들이 성 경험을 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타난 만큼 물리적 힘에 의한 성 관계, 성인에 의한 데이트 성폭력 등의 지표를 새롭게 개발하여 추후 청소년 건강행태 온라인조사에 반영하여 평가지표를 보완하고, 청소년 아르바이트경험과 성 경험과의 관계에 대한 심층적인 연구가 필요함을 제언한다.
