학교생활적응에 관련하여 스트레스의 원인과 그 결과로 나타나는 학업소진의 정도를 파악하고, 중재요인에 대한 연구가 필요하다는 것을 보여주는 근거는 무엇인가? | 그러나 교육부 보고(2014)에 따르면 우리나라 중학생의 많은 수가 학교생활에 적응하지 못하여 교육목표에 도달하기 어려운 위기학생인 것으로 조사되었으며, 학업중단 고등학생의 80%가 학교생활 부적응 때문에 학업을 중단한 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 학교생활부적응의 이유로 학업관련 요인이라는 응답이 32.3%로 가장 많았는데, 우리나라 청소년들의 경우 경쟁적이고 통제적인 학습 환경에서 학업에 대한 지나친 강조와 압력, 그리고 입시위주의 교육과정, 학벌지상주의 등의 풍토에 노출되어 학교생활에 올바르게 적응하지 못하는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 이렇듯 학업스트레스와 과도한 학업요구에 의해 나타나는 학업소진증상은 학교생활 적응에 부정적인 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 (Chun & Kim, 2011) 청소년들이 긍정적인 학교생활적응을 통해 이 시기에 기대되는 발달과제들을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있도록 스트레스의 원인과 그 결과로 나타나는 학업소진의 정도를 파악하고, 중재요인에 대한 연구가 필요할 것이다. | |
학교생활 부적응은 어떠한 영향을 미칠 수 있는가? | 학교는 청소년들이 하루 중 가장 많은 시간을 보내는 곳으로 학교생활에 적응하지 못한 학생들은 심리적 불안감이나 부정적 태도가 유발되어 심리적, 인지적 발달이 정상적으로 이루어지지 못할 뿐 아니라, 학급 내에서 소외되고 학습활동 수행 능력 저하가 초래될 수 있다. 학교생활 부적응은 개인의 심리사회적 건강과 성장 뿐 아니라 삶의 질에 부정적인 영향을 미치게 되어 (Kim, & Um, 2013; Lim, Kim, Song, Na, & Tan, 2014), 이러한 부적응이 지속될 경우 무단결석, 학교폭력, 가출, 비행 등의 여러 문제행동도 유발될 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다(Kim, Lee, & Lim, 2008; Koo, 2012). 따라서 청소년기에 있어 학교생활은 지적 능력 개발 뿐 아니라 삶의 만족도 및 행복지수와 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 이 시기 뿐 아니라 성인기 이후의 삶에도 영향을 미칠 수 있는 중요한 요인이 되기 때문에 청소년들에게 긍정적인 학교생활은 매우 중요하다(Chang, Song, & Cho, 2011). |
