어린이집이나 유치원같은 유아교육기관에 잘 적응하는 아이들의 특징은 무엇인가? | 영유아기는 신뢰를 바탕으로 또래나 교사와의 친밀한 관계 형성과 유아교육기관의 일정에 순응하고, 주도적이며 독립적인 활동으로 장난감과 공간을 또래들과 공유하며 잘 어울림으로써 적응해 나가게 된다. 유아교육기관에 잘 순응하며 적응하는 유아들의 경우 자존감, 자아개념, 자기조절능력, 심리적 건강성, 대인관계, 또래 유능성, 언어 및 인지능력 등의 면에서 잘 적응하지 못하는 유아들에 비해 더 우수하게 나타난 것으로 보고되고 있다[3-8]. 반면 유아교육기관에 잘 순응하지 못하는 경우 비행 또는 문제행동 등 초등학교 이후의 부적응 행동의 선행요인이 된다고 보고하고 있다[9]. | |
2014년 어린이집이나 유치원에서 교육을 받는 5세 이하 영유아는 몇퍼센트인가? | 영유아 자녀를 둔 어머니의 경우 직업 활동으로 말미암아 많은 유아들이 유치원을 비롯한 다양한 유아교육기관에 장시간 맡겨지고 있는 상황이다. 우남희[2] 보고에 의하면 2014년 어린이집이나 유치원에서 교육을 받고 있는만 5세 이하 영유아는 약 78%로 나타나 유아교육기관에 대한 기대와 관심이 점차 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 영유아는 유아교육기관에 장기간 머무르면서 새로운 환경에 적응해야 하며, 또한 교사와 또래들과의 사회적 관계를 형성하는 시기이기도 하다. |
