본 연구는 어머니의 양육효능감과 유아의 자아탄력성이 유아의 교육기관적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 대상은 A시 소재 7개 어린이집에 재원중인 만 3,4,5세 유아 162명의 어머니와 담임교사이며, 자료수집기간은 2016년 6월 1일부터 6월 30일까지였다. 연구도구는 어머니의 양육효능감, 유아의 자아탄력성, 유아의 교육기관적응에 대한 총 73개 문항이었으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS(window용) 22.0 통계프로그램을 사용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, Pearson's correlation coefficient 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 양육효능감은 유아의 교육기관적응과 약한 정적(+) 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 유아의 자아탄력성과 교육기관적응은 전체 및 모든 하부요인에서 유의한 정적(+) 상관관계를 나타냈다. 셋째, 어머니의 양육효능감은 유아의 자아탄력성, 유아의 교육기관적응과 약한 정적(+) 상관관계를 보였으며, 유아의 자아탄력성은 유아의 교육기관적응과 강한 정적(+) 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구는 어머니의 양육효능감과 유아의 자아탄력성 및 유아의 유아교육기관 적응력이 서로 정적(+) 상관관계가 나타났는데, 특히 유아의 자아탄력성이 유아의 유아교육기관적응과 강한 예측 변인으로 나타나 유아의 유아교육기관적응력 증진에 유아의 자아탄력성이 영향을 끼친다 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify the relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions. The study population consisted of 162 young children's mothers and teachers from seven kindergartens in A city. Data were collected from June 1 to June 30, 2016. The questionnaire consisted of 73 items about maternal self-efficacy, children's ego-resilience and children's preschool adjustment. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, descriptive methods and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN 22.0 version. The study results were as follows. First, maternal self-efficacy was weakly positively(+) correlated with the activeness of children's preschool adjustment. Second, children's ego-resilience was significantly positively(+) correlated with children's preschool adjustment. Third, regarding the relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions, maternal self-efficacy was weakly positively(+) correlated with children's ego-resilience and children's preschool adjustment, while children's ego-resilience was strongly positively(+) correlated with maternal self-efficacy and children's preschool adjustment. In conclusion, this study finding of a positive(+) relationship between maternal self-efficacy and young children's ego-resilience on their children's adjustment to educational institutions indicates that children's ego-resilience is a reliable predictor of children's preschool adjustment. These study results imply that children's ego-resilience is strongly influenced by children's preschool adjustment.

유아의 교육기관적응은 박영아·엄서영[60]이 개발한 도구로 담임교사의 생각과 일치하는 정도에 따라 측정한 점수를 말한다. 총 5개 요인(의사소통, 친사회성, 생활습관, 안정감, 적극성) 26문항으로 최고 5점(매우 그렇다)에서 최저 1점(전혀 그렇지 않다)의 5점 척도로 구성되어 있다.
유아의 자아탄력성은 LeBuffe· Naglieri[58]이 개발한Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA)를 김보민[59]이 수정, 번안한 도구를 사용하여 담임교사의 생각과 일치하는 정도에 따라 측정한 점수를 말한다. 총 3개 요인(애착, 주도성, 자기통제) 25문항으로 최고 5점(매우 자주 하였다)에서 최저 1점(전혀 하지 않았다)의 5점 척도로 구성되어 있다.

성능/효과

둘째, 유아의 자아탄력성과 유아교육기관적응은 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유아의 자아 탄력성 각 하위영역별 상관관계를 살펴보면, 주도성, 자기통제력, 애착과 유아의 유아교육기관 적응 하위영역 중 사회정서적응, 또래적응, 그리고 일과적응 등의 모든 영역에서 정적 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 어머니의 양육효능감, 유아의 자아탄력성, 유아의 기관적응의 관계는 정적 상관관계를 나타냈는데, 그 어머니이 양육효능감은 유아의 자아탄력성, 유아의 교육기관적응과 약한 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 유아의 자아탄력성은 유아의 교육기관적응과 강한 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 어머니의 양육효능감, 유아의 자아탄력성이 유아의 유아교육기관 적응에 직접적, 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

후속연구

셋째, 본 연구 결과 유아의 자아탄력성과 유아교육기관적응에 유의미한 관계가 있다고 밝혀졌다. 이는 유아의 수월한 유아교육기관 적응을 위해 유아의 자아탄력성을 향상시키는 유아교육활동 및 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하는 연구와 유아교육 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 제도적 정책적 방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다.
그렇지만,본 연구결과에서 어머니의 양육효능감과 유아의 유아교육기관적응의 관계가 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계 있다고 발견되지 않았다는 것이 어머니의 양육효능감과 유아의 유아교육기관적응과 아무런 상관관계가 없다고 단정할 수 없다. 이에 추후 매개검증을 통한 두 변수간의 관계를 매개효과나 잠정요인분석 등을 통해 연구해 볼 필요가 있다. 아울러, 어머니의 양육효능감의 하위요인에서는 애정이, 유아자아탄력성의 하위요인에서는 애착이, 유아교육기관적응의 하위요인에서는 의사소통, 생활습관, 안정감과 적극성이 높은 표준 평점을 나타냈으나 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않아, 잠재적 요인이나 매개효과 분석 등의 후속연구를 통해 위의 관계와 영향요인을 찾아볼 필요가 있을 것이다.
첫째, 본 연구의 대상은 A시에 소재한 7개의 영유아 교육기관에 재원중인 유아들의 어머니와 교사들로 지역적 편중이 커서 연구결과를 일반화하는데 어려움이 있다. 후속연구에서는 표집인원을 더 늘리고 다양한 사회문화적 배경을 가진 지역의 영유아교육기관에 재원중인 유아들의 어머니와 교사들을 대상으로 하여 연구결과가 일반화될 수 있도록 하는 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다.
