미디어 교육과 인접 영역인 ICT 활용 교육과 테크놀로지 활용 교육의 차이점은 무엇인가? | 미디어 교육은 21세기 초 우리나라에서 활발히 연구된 ‘ICT 활용 교육’이나 그 후 나타난 ‘테크놀로지 활용 교육’과는 디지털 미디어의 도구적 활용 측면에서 공통요소를 가지고 있으나 다음의 차이로 인해 구별할 수 있다. 첫째, 미디어 교육은 신문, 광고, 영화, 다큐멘터리 등 전통적 미디어에 대해서 여전히 관심을 가지며 꾸준히 활용하고 있다. 둘째, 미디어 교육은 국어과에서 활용되는 매체 언어 교육이나 사회과에서 활용되는 매체의 비판적 읽기를 통한 시민성 교육 등 ICT 활용 교육이나 테크놀로지 활용 교육에서는 다루지 않는 영역을 담고 있다. 셋째, 미디어 교육에서는 학생의 인지적, 정의적 발달을 돕는 학습 도구로써의 활용 측면뿐만 아니라, 미디어 리터러시나 의사소통의 측면을 강조한다(Seo et al., 2016). |
