로컬콘텐츠는 산유국이 해외기업들로 하여금 석유와 가스를 개발할 경우 자국의 설비나 제품, 인력, 서비스를 이용하도록 규정한 제도를 통칭한다. 산유국들은 자국 산업 보호와 일자리 창출 등을 위해 로컬콘텐츠를 도입하고 있는데, 유형과 항목은 국가별, 발주처별, 프로젝트별로 다르고 요구수준은 갈수록 복잡해지는 추세이다. 따라서 해양플랜트 시장에 진출하고자 하는 국내 기업들은 로컬콘텐츠를 준수하는 동시에 장애요인으로 인식하기보다 기회요인으로 활용하기 위한 전략을 수립해야 한다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 해양플랜트 시장에 진출하고자 하는 국내 기업들이 로컬콘텐츠에 대응하기 위한 전략을 외부여건 극복과 내부역량 강화 측면에서 제안하였다.
