This study is designed to figure out the effects of major selection motivation on career efficacy and major satisfaction of college students majoring in culinary and foodservice management. To achieve this purpose, a survey was carried out to 209 college students. The findings showed that their major selection had a significant effect on their career efficacy and major satisfaction. But the mediating effect of their career efficacy as a mediator - which improves their major selection and major satisfaction - was partially adopted. Consequently, their internal and external participation motivation for their major selection is a facilitating mechanism to maximize their major satisfaction, and it is necessary to limit the use as a mediating variable of their career efficacy.

제안 방법

검사도구의 척도는 Han(2008)의 연구에서 4점 척도로 되어있으나, 본 연구에서는 5점 척도로 수정하여 전공교육 만족 5문항, 행정복지지원서비스 5문항 등 총 10문으로 구성하였다.
본 연구는 조리외식 전공대학생의 전공선택 동기가 진로효능감과 전공만족에 미치는 영향력을 밝히기 위해 독립변수인 선택 동기는 내재적, 외재적 동기를 하위 변수로 반영하고, 매개변수인 진로효능감에서는 목표선택, 직업정보를 하위변수로 선정하였으며, 종속변수인 전공만족은 전공 수업만족과 교육지원 만족을 하위변수로 선정하였다. 이상의 변수의 선정은 앞선 선행연구들을 바탕으로 하여 본 연구 주제에 맞게 참고하여 Fig.

대상 데이터

본 연구의 실증분석을 위한 대상은 대학교 조리 외식 창업 관련 전공자들로 전공수업을 1년 이상 수강한 학생 250명을 대상으로 하였다. 즉, 전공교과목을 배우면서 조리·외식 관련 자격증을 준비 중인 학생들로 수업 시작 전 충분한 공지를 통해 자신의 전공과 생각하는 직업에 대한 진로계획에 대한 목표 등이 뚜렷한 학생들로 진로 효능감과 전공 선택에 대한 기대만족도가 높은 학생들로 대상을 한정하였다.
조사방법은 설문지에 의한 자기기입법을 통한 설문조사를 2017년 5월 1일～5월 10일까지 실시하였다. 설문지는 총 250부를 배포하였으며, 유효하지 않은 설문지 41부를 제외한 총 209부를 유효설문지로 반영하여 최종분석에 사용하였다.

데이터처리

이는 각 요인들의 검증을 위하여 요인 분석과 신뢰도 검증을 하였다. 그리고 매개변수의 매개효과를 확인하기 위하여 Sobel test를 이용하였다.
분석방법은 자료 특성과 분석 목적에 따라 빈도 분석, 신뢰도 검증, 구조방정식 모형을 이용하였다. 먼저 조사대상자의 특성을 파악하기 위해서 빈도분석을 사용하였으며, 다음으로 측정변수의 타당성과 신뢰도 검증을 위하여 요인 분석과 신뢰도 검증을 하였다. 이는 각 요인들의 검증을 위하여 요인 분석과 신뢰도 검증을 하였다.
본 연구에서 이용한 통계분석 도구는 SPSS v.21.0과 AMOS v.21.0 그리고 MS Excel 2013을 이용하여 평균 분산 추출(AVE: Average Variance Extracted), 개념 신뢰도(Construct reliability) 계산에 활용하였다. 분석방법은 자료 특성과 분석 목적에 따라 빈도 분석, 신뢰도 검증, 구조방정식 모형을 이용하였다.

이론/모형

전공만족도 관련 선행 변수는 Bang과 Park(2014)은 대학생들을 대상으로 Han과 Lee(2013)가 개발한 학과 만족 구성 요인 중 일반만족과 사회적 만족으로 구분하여 전공만족도의 변수로 사용하였다. Han과 Lee(2013)는 Jang, Park, Na와 Lee(1986)가 개발한 전공 만족도는 Braskamp, Wise와 Hengstler(1979)의 학과 만족도를 한국에 그대로 사용하였고, 사용변수가 한국적 현실에 맞지 않는다는 문제점을 제시하였다. 또한, 교과만족, 관계만족, 일반만족, 사회인식만족, 학교만족의 5개 요인으로 도출하였다.
진로효능감 검사 도구는 Jang, Im과 Song (1991)이 개발한 진로효능감 검사도구로 본 논문에서는 Bang 과 Park(2014)의 연구를 바탕으로 진로효능감 관련 변인으로 결정성, 목적성, 확신성, 독립성 그리고 준비성으로 구분하여 측정한 결과로 정의한다. 그리고 측정도구는 Kim(2012)의 연구에서 사용한 도구를 활용하였다. 진로자기효능감은 ‘목표선택’, ‘직업정보’, ‘문제해결’, ‘미래계획’의 4개 하위 요인으로 이루어져 있으며, 각각의 하위요인은 11문항, 6문항, 3문항, 5문항 전체 25문항으로 구성하였다.
따라서 본 연구에서는 설문대상 학생들의 대부분이 1,2학년의 저학년인 점을 감안하여 전공만족을 일반만족과 인식만족으로 구분하여 측정 결과로 정의한다. 그리고 측정도구는 전공 만족도를 측정하기 위하여 Han(2008)의 조사도구를 활용하였다. Han(2008)이 사용한 도구는 전체 17문항으로 이루어져 있으며, ‘전반적인 대학생활(6문항)’, ‘대학교육의 질(6문항)’, ‘행정·복지 서비스(5문항)’으로 구분되어 있다.
그리고 측정도구는 전공선택 동기를 측정하기 위해 Lee (2007)가 제작한 검사도구를 Song(2014)이 재구성한 문항을 사용하였다. 해당 검사도구의 하위요인은 내재적 동기 8문항, 외재적 동기 5문항, 전체 13문항으로 구성되었으며, ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’는 1점, ‘그렇지 않다’는 2점, ‘보통이다’ 는 3점, ‘그렇다’는 4점, ‘매우 그렇다’는 5점 척도로 구성하였다.
본 연구를 수행하기 위하여 Song(2014)의 ‘전공선택동기’, Kim(2012)의 ‘진로자기효능감’, Han(2008)의 대학생활만족도 검사 도구를 사용하였다. 변수의 정의와 측정도구의 문항 구성과 신뢰도는 다음과 같다.
우리나라에서 사용한 진로효능감은 Lee와 Lee(2000)가 Taylor와 Betz(1982)가 개발한 척도를 번안하여 대학생을 대상으로 개인이 어떤 결과를 얻기 위한 행동을 성공적으로 수행해 낼 수 있다는 확신적인 신념을 설명하는 네 가지 구인(목표선택, 직업정보, 문제해결, 미래계획)을 설정하여 사용하였다(Kim, 2012). 개인마다 다르게 지각된 진로효능감은 현재와 미래의 행동패턴에 영향을 줄 뿐만 아니라, 사고 유형과 정서에도 영향을 미친다(Kim, 2012).

둘째, 진로효능감(목표선택, 직업정보)이 전공 만족(교육 자원 만족, 전공교육 만족)에 미치는 영향에 있어 진로효능감은 전공 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 진로효능감의 목표선택이 교육지원 만족에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않아 기각되었다.
셋째, 전공선택(내, 외재적) 동기가 전공만족(교육지원 만족, 전공 교육 만족)에 미치는 영향에서 내외재적 동기는 교육지원 만족에 직업 정보와 전공 교육 만족 간에 진로효능감의 유의한 매개효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, ‘내재적 동기와 전공교육만족에 목표선택은 유의한 매개효과 를 줄 것이다.
이상의 연구 결과, 본 연구의 시사점을 요약해 보면 전체적으로 외식 조리 전공 학생의 전공선택이 진로효능감에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 촉진기제임을 확인시켜 주었으며, 특히 매개 효과로서 전공선택과 전공 만족을 높여주는 매개 요인으로서의 교육지원이 잘 될수록 진로효능감의 매개적 효과 또한 높아질 수 있고, 이에 따라 전공선택에 따른 전공 만족을 극대화시켜 줌을 실증해 준 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이는 전공선택의 경우, 자신의 흥미와 적성 등에 대한 부합성을 기준으로 선택해야 함을 의미하고, 외부의 권유나 분위기 등에 편승한 선택 동기를 가지고 선택할 때 진로효능감과 전공만족이 맞거나 원하는 만큼의 학습 성취를 얻지 못함을 의미한다.
