최근 10년간 항공사고 중 인적요인에 의한 발생 비율은? 민간항공분야 뿐만 아니라 공군에서도 항공사고는 평시 상황에서 무위의 전력손실로 이어지기 때문에 안전에 대해 지속적으로 관심을 가지고 예방활동을 위한 노력을 기울이고 있다(Kim, 2009). 최근 10년간 우리나라의 항공사고를 살펴보면 전체 104건 중 76건이 인적요인(human error)에 의해 발생하였으며 전체의 73%의 비율을 차지하고 있는데, 항공사고가 과거에 비해 점차 감소추세를 보이고 있지만 인적요인에 의한 사고는 지속적으로 발생하고 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다(Traffic safety annual report, 2017). 항공사고에 있어 인적요인의 중요성은 오래전부터 인식되어왔는데 이에 따라 실수(error)와 위반으로 나타나는 불안전한 행동(unsafe act)에 대한 인적요인이 연구되어 왔고(Lim, Cho, & Myung, 2008; Reason, 2000), 조직차원에서도 조직원의 안전행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구들이 진행되어 왔다(Clarke, 2013; Griffin & Neal, 2000; Hofmann & Morgeson, 1999).
안전 활동이 항공분야에서 중요한 이유는? 항공분야에서 항공사고는 수많은 인명과 재산상의 큰 피해를 가져오는 대형 참사로 이어지기 때문에 사고를 예방하기 위한 안전 활동은 매우 중요하다(Han, Lee, Park, & Sohn, 2009). 민간항공분야 뿐만 아니라 공군에서도 항공사고는 평시 상황에서 무위의 전력손실로 이어지기 때문에 안전에 대해 지속적으로 관심을 가지고 예방활동을 위한 노력을 기울이고 있다(Kim, 2009).
