인공심박동기 이식자이 호소하는 증상은? 또한 인공심박동기 이식은 수명을 연장시키는 효과를 가져왔으며, 전반적인 삶의 질을 향상시켰다(Earley, Persson, Garlitski, Balk, & Uhlig, 2014). 그러나 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 인공심박동기 이식자들은 이식 후 인공심박동기 증후군, 이물감, 감염, 극선의 이탈, 심박동기 기능부전, 전자파 장애 등과 같은 다양한 문제를 경험하게 된다(Kimberly, 2010). 이때 나타나는 신체적 증상은 이식 전 증상 뿐 아니라 이식 전에 경험하지 않았던 새로운 증상으로 목과 배의 박동감, 만성 기침, 만성두통, 심계항진, 흉통, 질식감 등이다(Ross & Kenny, 2000; Yoon, 2005). 또한 심리적으로 정기적인 배터리 교환에 대한 부담감(Hwang, 2001)과 평생 동안 기계에 의존해서 살아가야 하는 현실에 대해 깊은 절망감에 빠지게 된다(Duru et al.
