마음챙김이란? 이렇게 마음챙김에 대한 기업들의 관심은 업무 효과성 및 효율성 향상을 위해 정보시스템 인프라 같은 물적 관점뿐만 아니라, 심적 관점에도 초점을 맞추고 있다는 것을 나타내며, 더 나아가 조직경영 패러다임이 물리적 경영에서 심리적 경영으로 전환되고 있음을 보여준다고 할 수 있다. 마음챙김(mindfulness)은 현재 순간을 있는 그대로 자각하는 마음의 상태를 일컫는다(Kabat-Zinn, 1982; Kabat-Zinn et al., 1992; Marlatt and Kristeller, 1999).
정보기술을 낮은 비용에 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 이유는 무엇인가? 현재는 기존에 없던 혁신적인 정보기술을 낮은 비용으로 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 시대가 되었다. 사물에 네트워크가 접목되면서 혁신적이고 새로운 정보기기가 소개되고 있고, 이러한 정보기기는 네트워크 효과(network effect)에 따른 경제성으로 인해 진입장벽이 매우 낮아졌다. 따라서 기업은 스마트워치 같은 혁신적인 사물인터넷 정보기기를 업무에 쉽게 도입할 수 있게 되었다.
