멘토교사와 멘티교사의 멘토링에서 나타나는 갈등 요소에는 뭐가 있을까요? | 첫째, 협력적 멘토링 프로그램에서 멘토교사와 멘티교사 사이의 PCK 구성 요소 별 갈등 발생 빈도를 분석한 결과 수업 전략과 관련한 갈등이 가장 많이 나타났다. 이는 멘토교사가 학생끼리의 상호작용을 중요시하는 구성주의 교육관을 수업에 적용하도록 멘티교사에게 요구하였으나 멘티교사가 이를 받아들이지 않거나(멘토교사 MT1- 멘티교사 BT1), 멘티교사의 수업 준비에 관한 요청에도 불구하고 멘토교사가 적극적으로 해결 방안을 제시하지 못했기 때문이었다(멘토교사 MT2 - 멘티교사 BT2). 그러나 지속적인 멘토링이 수행되면서 수업 전략과 관련된 갈등이 점차 줄어드는 것을 볼 수 있으며, 이는 멘토링의 횟수가 거듭됨에 따라 멘토교사의 의도를 멘티교사가 잘 이해하고 받아들여 멘티교사의 인식 변화를 가져왔기 때문이다. 따라서 멘토교사는 멘토링 과정에서 갈등이 발생할 수 있음을 인식하고, 갈등 발생 시 멘티교사와 함께 구체적인 논의를 통해 갈등의 발생 원인과 해결 방안을 찾아간다면 더욱 효과적인 멘토링이 될 것이다. 둘째, 멘티교사의 요청에도 멘토교사가 적극적인 해결 방안을 제시하지 못하거나 멘티교사의 멘토링에 대한 성의 없는 태도(멘토교사 MT3 - 멘티교사 BT3)는 멘토링 진행 과정에서 갈등을 심화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 성공적인 멘토링을 위해서는 교수기술 지원을 효과적으로 표현하고 전달하는 멘토교사의 능력(Lee, 2015) 뿐만 아니라 멘티교사 개인의 교육관과 함께 멘토링에 참여하고자 하는 의지 또한 중요하다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 초임교사들이 현장에서 받게 될 다양한 영향(Kim et al., 2006) 중에서 멘토링과 같이 동료 교사와의 협력과 상호작용을 바탕으로 하는 전문적 관계 형성은 초임교사들의 교수기법 향상과 함께 효과적인 수업 발달을 일으킬 수 있으므로(Eills, 1993; Hudson, Skamp & Brooks, 2005; Huling-Austin, 1992) 성공적인 멘토링을 위해 멘티교사 또한 적극적인 자세를 갖출 필요가 있다. | |
