본 연구는 대학생들이 수업에 대한 인식을 유형화하여 보다 효과적인 수업방식을 도입하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 Q 방법론을 활용하였으며, Q표본은 33개의 진술문으로 구성되었고, P표본은 교양수업을 듣는 40명의 학생으로 구성되었다. 연구결과 총 4가지의 유형이 도출되었으며 유형 1은 수업을 통하여 성장하려고 하는 욕구가 강한 '내실 있는 수업을 중요하게 생각하는 유형', 유형 2는 수업을 듣는 과정이 일을 할 때 실질적인 도움이 되기를 기대하는 '실무능력 향상을 중요하게 생각하는 유형', 유형 3은 수강인원수나 교수와의 소통, 실질적인 환경 등에 중점을 두는 '교육환경을 중요하게 생각하는 유형', 유형 4는 스스로 듣고 싶은 수업을 통하여 다양한 지적 역량을 향상시키고자 하는 '개인적인 역량 향상을 중요하게 생각하는 유형' 등으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과가 대학 수업의 질을 향상하고 다양한 대학생의 수업 요구를 충족할 수 있도록 돕는 기초자료가 되기를 바란다.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the subjective structure of classes for college students. This study was conducted using the Q-methodology, and 33 various items were selected through a comprehensive review and revision process. Forty college students were selected for the P sample. The results showed four types of perception regarding college classes: Type 1 (Substantial Class-Focused Type) includes those who want to be a mature person through college classes; Type 2 ( Practical Class-Focused Type) includes those who have an interest in college classes to develop their work skills; Type 3 (Educational Environment-Focused Type) includes those who feel class size, communication with teachers, and the educational system itself are important; and Type 4 (Personal Competence-Focused Type), which includes those who feel that the right to take classes in order to increase their competence without mandatory classes is very important. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the types of individuals in terms of college class perception, as well as to provide reference materials to improve educational innovation for college students.

대상 데이터

Q방법론에서 피험자의 수는 요인을 생성하고 요인들 간에 비교할 수 있을 정도면 충분하여 소수를 대상으로 하고 있는데, 본 연구의 P표본은 교양수업을 수강하는 대학생들 40명으로 구성되었다. 본 연구의 자료를 수집하기 전에 본 연구의 목적과 절차를 분명하게 설명하고 Q 분류(Q-Sorting)을 실시하였다.

데이터처리

Q-Sorting을 통해 얻은 P표본의 응답결과를 QUANL프로그램에 입력하여 결과를 도출하였다. Q요인분석은 주요 분석(Principal Component Factor Analysis)방법을 사용했으며, 아이겐 값(Eigen Value) 1.000이상을 기준으로 각 요인을 산출하고, 적합한 문항을 선정하기 위해 Z-score를 활용하였다.

이론/모형

P표본이 Q표본을 분류하는 것이 Q분류(Q-Sorting)이다. 본 연구는 Q표본으로 선정된 33개의 진술문 카드를 읽으면서 자신의 마음속에서 상대적으로 어떤 의미에 더 동의하는지에 따라 정규분포에 가깝도록 강제 분포시키는 방법(forced distribution)을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 Q분류는 <표2>와 같이 가장 긍정(+4)에서 가장 부 (-4)의 9점 척도로 이루어졌다.
본 연구의 목적은 대학생이 수업인식을 어떻게 하는지 에 관한 주관적 구조를 밝히기 위하여 연구방법이자 연구 분석 방법인 Q방법론을 활용하였다.

성능/효과

본 연구는 대학생들이 수업에 대한 인식을 유형화하여 보다 효과적인 수업방식을 도입하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구결과 총 4가지의 유형이 도출되었으며 유형 1은 ‘내실 있는 수업을 중요하게 생각하는 유형’, 유형 2는 ‘실무 능력 향상을 중요하게 생각하는 유형’, 유형 3은 ‘교육환경을 중요하게 생각하는 유형’, 유형 4는 ‘개인적인 역량 향상을 중요하게 생각하는 유형’ 등으로 나타났다.

후속연구

이를 위하여 다양한 대학생의 인식을 교과과정 및 프로그램에 반영하고, 이들이 수업에 대해 보이고 있는 요구를 충족시키고 있는지에 대한 효과를 살펴볼 필요도 있다. 이러한 후속과정과 연구를 위하여 본 연구가 의미있는 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.
