요양서비스제공 과정에서 요양보호사가 노인들에게 겪는 부적절한 언행에는 어떤 것들이 있는가? 그와 동시에 묵인되었거나 표면화되지 않았던 노인의 성 행동이 요양서비스제공 과정에서 서비스 제공자에게 표출되어 심각한 문제행동 유형으로 가시화되고 있다(Kim, Kim, & Kim, 2013; Kwak & Park, 2014). 선행연구에서도 노인요양시설 요양보호사의 성희롱 피해 경험을 조사한 결과 38%가 음담패설이나 음란한 농담을 경험하였고, 이외에 성기 노출, 신체접촉, 신체 훑어보기 등을 경험한 것으로 나타났다(Park, Seo, & Koh, 2015). 또한 숙식 및 의료관리, 목욕과 같은 돌봄 행위에서 노인이 직접적인 행동이나 눈빛, 음담패설 등을 통해 자신의 성적 욕구를 표출하는 경우가 빈번하게 발생하고 있음을 보고하고 있다(Cho, 2013).
