본 연구는 어린이집 원장의 리더십역랑과 직무만족도 간의 관계에서 직무스트레스가 매개효과를 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. G시 소재의 어린이집 원장 212명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 어린이집 원장의 리더십역량은 조금 높게, 직무만족도와 직무스트레스는 보통수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어린이집 원장의 리더십역량과 직무만족도는 정적상관관계를, 원장의 직무스트레스는 리더십역량 및 직무만족도와 부적상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 어린이집 원장의 리더십역량은 직무만족에 영향을 미치며, 직무스트레스는 리더십역량과 직무만족도 사이에서 부분매개 역할을 수행하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 성공적인 어린이집 운영을 위해서는 원장의 직무스트레스를 감소시키고 직무만족도를 높여 긍정적인 리더십역량을 발휘할 수 있도록 정책적, 제도적으로 다양한 방안을 모색할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
