본 증례보고에서는 과로 후 공황장애가 온 44세 남성 환자를 상한론 변병진단체계(傷寒論 辨病診斷體系)에 입각하여 태양병(太陽病)으로 진단하고 15조문의 계지탕(桂枝湯)을 약 6개월 동안 투여한 결과 주소증인 심계항진, 가슴답답함, 기역(氣逆), 호흡곤란을 포함한 제반 증상들이 호전되는 치료적 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.
