본 연구는 ICT 창업기업의 기술사업화 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 입체적으로 탐색하기 위해 독립변수인 기업가적 지향성, 기술혁신역량과 종속변수인 기술사업화 성과 간 관계에서 기술개발활동의 조절 효과를 실증하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 변수 간 인과관계를 분석한 결과 기업가적 지향성의 하위 요인 중 혁신성, 진취성이 높을수록 기술사업화 성과인 기술성과와 제품완성도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 기업가적 지향성의 하위 요인 중 위험감수성은 제품완성도에만 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 기술혁신역량의 하위 요인인 기술사업화능력, 기술융합능력이 높을수록 기술사업화 성과 또한 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 기술개발활동의 조절효과 분석 결과 기술개발활동의 하위 요인인 기술개발관리능력은 기업가적 지향성의 하위 요인 중 혁신성 및 위험감수성과 기술성과 간의 영향 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 기술개발기획관여도는 기술혁신역량의 하위 요인 중 기술융합 능력과 기술성과 간의 영향 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 다음과 같이 3가지 제언을 하였다. 첫째, 기업 경쟁의 우위 달성을 위한 기술사업화의 성과는 기업가적 지향성을 바탕으로 한 진취적인 혁신과 위험감수성에 달려 있으므로, 조직 내부에서부터 기업가적 지향성을 구축하려는 방안이 모색될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 기술 발전의 속도와 시장 수용의 변화가 빠른 ICT 산업의 특성상 아이디어와 관련 지식을 적용하여 빠르게 제품 생산으로 이어질 수 있는 역량, 기술, 지식, 자원이 유기적으로 연계되어 기술응용으로 이어질 수 있을 때 기술사업화 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치게 될 것이다. 마지막으로, 기업의 최고경영자는 기술개발을 위한 단계적이고 지속적인 연구 활동을 통해 혁신성과 위험감수성을 더욱 촉진할 필요가 있다. 아울러 기술융합에 대한 이해도 증진을 통해 기술성과로 이어질 수 있도록 다양한 전략 및 실패를 용인하는 기업문화를 구축할 필요가 있다.
