이 연구의 목적은 S 대학교 교양필수과목 중 하나인 교양과 인성 수업에 나타난 학생들의 반응과 자기 이해를 살펴보는데 목적을 두었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 수업에서 학생들의 긍정적인 변화에 미친 영향 정도는 5단계 리커트 척도를 사용하여 보통 이상의 높은 단계의 반응이 나타났다. 특히 연구자가 실시한 영화 토의 결과 만족도는 매우 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 그림 검사 분석 결과 스트레스와 자원 척도를 통한 대처 능력의 변화가 학생들에게 나타났으며, 학생들은 자신의 마음을 들여다봄으로써 자신을 이해할 수 있는 기회가 되었다. 본 연구는 문학과 예술, 그리고 영상 등을 통해 학생들의 인성을 함양하고 토의를 통해 책임감, 리더십, 협동심, 배려, 소통, 공감 등 세계 시민으로서의 자질을 함양할 수 있는 수업 예시를 제시하였다.
