오늘날 기업을 둘러싼 환경의 급격한 변화는 기업의 경쟁력을 유지하기 위하여 우수한 인적자원을 지속적으로 확보하고 보유할 것을 요구한다. 따라서 조직의 경쟁우위를 확보하고 지속적인 성장을 도모하는데 필요한 대표적인 요인으로 업무몰입과 이직의도에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어졌다. 우수한 인적자원은 높은 역량과 고용가능성을 지니기 때문에 이들을 확보하고 유지하는 것이 기업경영 관점에서 매우 중요한 문제이기 때문이다. 업무몰입과 이직의도의 관계에 대한 연구는 지금까지 다양한 분야에서 많은 연구들이 수행되었지만, 그 결과가 연구별로 상이하게 도출되었다. 그러나 해당 관계에 대해 종합적이고 전체적인 관점에서 분석을 실시한 연구는 매우 드문 실정으로 이에 대한 연구의 필요성이 제기된다. 따라서 본 연구는 기존 연구의 결과를 종합하여 변인 간 관계를 통계적으로 분석하고 연구방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 선행연구에 대한 분석을 통해 국내 맥락에서 조직 내에서 업무몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석을 실시하여 업무몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 효과 크기를 분석하였고, 이를 바탕으로 학문적, 실무적 시사점을 도출하였다
