본 연구는 코로나-19 유행기간 동안 한국 청소년들의 식생활 행태 변화를 분석해 보고자 하였다. 2018년부터 2021년까지 청소년 건강행태조사에 참여한 12-18세 227,139명의 설문자료를 사용하였다. 2018-2019년에 참여한 117,343명과 2020-2021년에 참여한 109,796명의 자료를 비교하였다. 다중 회귀 분석을 사용하여 2018-2019년을 기준으로 식생활 행태 변화를 공변량이 보정된 오즈비를(adjusted odds ratio, AOR) 계산하였다. 탄산음료를 전혀 섭취하지 않는 군과 1주일에 3번 이상 탄산음료를 섭취하는 군 사이의 오즈비를 비교했을 때, AOR 0.81(95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.78-0.84)로 코로나-19 유행기간 동안 유의하게 감소하였다(p<0.001). 마찬가지로, 단맛 음료를 전혀 섭취하지 않는 군과 1주일에 3번 이상 단맛 음료를 섭취하는 군 사이의 오즈비를 비교했을 때 AOR 0.69 (95% CI: 0.67-0.72)로 코로나-19 유행기간 동안 감소하였다(p<0.001). 반면, 1주에 3번 이상 패스트푸드를 섭취하는 AOR (1.15, 95% CI: 1.11-1.20)과 1주에 3번 이상 아침식사를 거르는 AOR (1.23, 95% CI: 1.20-1.26)은 코로나-19 유행기간 동안 유의하게 증가하였다. 과일 섭취량은 코로나-19 유행 동안 감소하였으며, AOR 1.26 (95% CI: 1.21-1.31)이었다. 결론적으로, 코로나-19 유행은 한국 청소년들의 식생활 행태에 긍정적인 영향과 부정적인 영향을 동시에 미쳤다.
