본 연구는 가족구조에 관계없이 모든 청소년들에게 적용시킬 수 있는 청소년이 지각한 가족건강성 척도를 개발한 연구이다. 1,954명의 청소년들을 대상으로 가족건강성에 대한 개념을 경험적 방법으로 살펴보았고, 보다 과학적인 통계분석을 통해 기존 측정도구에서 문제시 되고 있는 신뢰도와 타당도의 문제점을 보완하였다. 이를 위하여 조사대상자의 응답내용과 가족건강성을 설명하는 이론적 접근인 일반체계이론, 생태학적 관점, 여권론적 관점, 갈등이론, 교환이론, 상징적 상호작용이론과의 일치도에 따라 문항을 정리하였다. 가족건강성에 대한 하위항목에 대한 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였고, 하위항목 문항간의 관계성을 높이고 항목 분류의 정확성을 높이기 위하여 확인적 요인분석, 수렴타당도와 변별타당도 분석 및 신뢰도 분석을 실시하였다. 개발된 가족건강성은 3가지 하위항목 즉 “화목한 가정분위기”, “갈등 조절”, “활동 공유”이고, 13개의 문항으로 구성되었다.

The purpose of this study was as follows. The adjusted measurement of adolescence family strength was developed for better understanding, because the existing scales in use appeared to suffer from a variety of problems. To achieve this purpose, we itemized the measurement of family strength based on theoretical concepts, by interviewing 300 students(Primary, Junior high, High school students). The main data for the development of the measurement were analyzed using 1,954 students who ranged from the 2nd grade to the 11th grade. We developed the measurement scale using exploratory factor analysis and confirmative factor analysis. In addition to this, we collected data from 357 students for a validity test. Our results are as follows. First, the measurement of adolescence family strength consisted of 3 sub-factors, those are “harmonious family atmosphere”, “conflict management”, “shared activity”. It is confirmed that these factors are effective in solving the drawbacks of the existing family strength measurement scale, especially in terms of the lack of a theoretical background. This study showed that there were some characteristic differences which only applied to adolescents compared to the existing family strength measurement of adults. Second, this study examined the measurement validity and reliability compared to the existing measures. The measurement we developed has great convergent validity and also discriminant validity. We also suggest that this study has several implications for promoting the utility of the adolescent family strength measurement.
