각국의 효소활성법에 따라 표준효소 (분리정제하여 시판중인 효소)의 활성을 대한약전, 일본 약국방, FIP법, USP 방법에 따라 측정하여 서로 효소간에 상관계수를 측정한다. 시판중인 소화효소의 활성을 각국의 방법에 따라 측정하고 각국의 효소활성단위의 상관계수와 상관성을 조사한다. 이와 같은 방법을 통하여 쉽고 빠르게 소화효소를 평가할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 같은 범주의 효소를 한 군에 포함하여 같은 소화효소군으로 만들도록 제안한다.

Pancreatin is a mixture of the fat dissolving enzyme, lipase, the protein enzymes such as pretense, and those that break down carbohydrates like amylase. Pancreatic enzymes are not standardized, and contain a variety of enzymes, including trypsin, chymotrypsin, lipase, amylase, colipase, and ribonuclease. These enzymes catalyze the hydrolysis of fats into glycerol and fatty acids, protein into proteoses and derived substances, and starch into dextrins and sugars. In Korea, pancreatin is imported from foreign countries. However, guideline of each country for pancreatin produced from each country is different. Assay of enzyme activity for pancreatin in KP is similar to that in JP, but is significantly different to that in JP and in USP. Therefore, guideline for pancreatin imported from several countries, such as Europe, Japan and America, is standardized to control qualify of this medicine. Activity assay of digestive enzymes, starch-, protein-, and lipid-digestive enzymes, for Pancreatin in KP (including JP) is more difficult than that in FIP and in USP. Particularly, activity assays of starch- and lipid-digestive enzymes by KP method was mistakable, and varied in diluted samples than those by FIP. However, deviation of protein-digestive enzyme activity by KP method was similar to that by FIP. Among KP, JP, FIP and USP methods, digestive enzyme activity assays by FE generally is the most sensitive. Therefore, we could recommand activity assay of digestive enzymes for pancreatin as a standard method. Average starch-digestive enzyme activities of 17 commercial pancreatins by KP method were 0.079-fold higher than those in FIP. Average protein-digestive enzyme activities of 17 commercial pancreatins by KP method were 75.7-fold higher than those in FIP. Average lipid-digestive enzyme activities of 17 commercial pancreatins by KP method were 0,234-fold higher than those in FE. These coefficent constants could be used to evaluate pancreatin digestive enzyme activity.
