보건소 치과위생사의 근무환경에 따른 직무스트레스 및 신체손상에 관한 연구 (A) study on job stress and physical damage in accordance with the working environment of dental hygienists at public health centers원문보기

This study is designed to look into the relationship between job stress and physical damage in accordance with the working environment of dental hygienists at public health centers and to present basic materials capable of improving the health care, the smooth job performance and the working environment of dental hygienists. The researcher worked with a total of 700 dental hygienists enrolled in the Korean Public Health Dental Hygienist Association with a self-entering questionnaire research during the period ranging from November 3, 2001 to November 15, 2001, making a final analysis of 252 copies out of the returned 267. SAS program was utilized for the cause of analyzing materials. The findings are to be summarized as follows. First, many respondents said that there were airtight receptacles and facilities to preserve used fixing and developing solutions at public health centers and that their eyesight was failing due to medical lightening in terms of physical damage, and that they were suffering pains in the shoulders and they failed to wear protective spectacles at public health centers. Second, stress proved to be intensest when public health centers were bereft of welfare facilities. The study shows that factors related to social activities were highest by factor and that job stress were highest when the hygienists thought that their social prospects were not bright. Third, the study on the difference between general characteristics and working environment reveals that there were statistically significant differences(p<0.05) between the location of the public health centers and such variables as frequent ventilation due to the impure air at the centers, heavy noise, the bad effects of purmice and acids on their eyes and no protective facilities when x-ray was used. Fourth, the study on the relationship between pains and the average hours of treating patients a day reveals that there was a statistically significant difference between the pains in the shoulders(p<0.001), the backs(p<0.01) and the waist(p<0.001) and the average hours of treating patients. Fifth, the research indicates that there was a statistically significant difference in preventative activities by age and such variables as no stare at light within 25cm when curing light were used(p<0.01), no look into curing light for more than 3 minutes(p<0.05) and wearing special clothes and shoes within public health centers(p<0.05). All in all, the findings show that public dental health centers could make a lot of noise to inhibit proper medical treatment and that they were not equipped with waste-disposal facilities and that th hygien were suffering great job stress because of the unfavorable perception of the public about social activities. Fortunately, the study shows that the subjects took good care of their health lest physical damage and airs should occur.
