This study was conducted to examine how nutritional knowledge and eating patterns of women affect their skin type as well as their cosmology. The reason behind this study is to show that for the best skin care, one needs to have a stable basis of nutritional knowledge, a good understanding of the importance of food intake, and must control their eating habits. In conducting this study, women of Seoul were surveyed through questionnaires on their nutritional knowledge, their present eating habits, opinion of the relationship between nutritional knowledge and skin type, and their understanding of the influence of eating habits on cosmology. For gathering as well as analyzing the compiled statistics, the SPSS program, the (x^(2)) and t-test verifications were used. In addition, after analyzing the data with the One-way ANOVA verification, the Scheffe verification was further consulted. The results of this study are as follows: In terms of nutritional knowledge, the woman who were married, paid higher salaries, and healthier, were better aware of nutritional knowledge. Furthermore, university graduates ranked higher in score than people who had no more than a highschool education. The following are the results from questions on eating habits: In relation to age, the women in their 40s always ate breakfast and there were more woman who ate their rice with at least 3 types of grains. In relation to taking nutritional supplements, married women and university graduates took them on a regular basis. In relation to eating vegetables, those women who were in good health and/or nutritional condition were older, married, and university graduates who ate more vegetables than their counterparts. The older, single, women in bad health preferred spicy foods (hotter, sweeter, saltier, more bitter, etc.) while those women in both good and bad nutritional statuses enjoyed eating spicier foods. In relation to food intake for skin care, those women who were younger, single, and high-school graduates and below, generally liked eating fruits, while those women who were older and university graduates enjoyed eating seaweed for taking care of their skin. In taking a look at the relationship between nutritional knowledge and skin types, since the different degrees of nutritional knowledge did not make that big of a difference for the healthiness of women's skin, most women were of standard skin status. However, those women with better nutritional knowledge had skin types that were normal or acne-ridden. On the other hand, those women with less nutritional knowledge had skin types that were dry or oily. The following are the results from questions on the relationship between eating habits and skin type: In relation with skin types, the largest number of women had dry skin, the next largest number of women had combination skin. For combination and dry skinned women, there was a difference in their alcohol and vegetable intake. Many oily skinned women were found not taking nutritional supplements. The degree or severity of acne depended the type of food consumed. For those women that massaged their skin at least twice per week, the majority of them had normal or combination skin types. For those who did not massage their skin, they generally had sensitive skin. In regards to the sample and its results, this study examined a localized region as well as the test subjects' thoughts. For this reason, one must use careful discretion when interpreting and generalizing the findings of this study. Moreover, not only the types of food products, but the analysis of whether or not certain components had direct relationships should be considered as well in the support of this study.
