As the Seventh National Education Program is being started, this research has made an attempt to create helpful data for actual classes by analysing the STS, the basic intentions of the education program, and the preconcepts and misconcepts of students which fits the constitutional views. The research on the misconcepts were actively carried out in the past, but they were not organized in chapter by chapter order, making it difficult for these data to be used in actual classrooms, and the questionnaires used for the analysis were only limited to questions that asks only common sense level answers. Therefore, focusing on the contents of the textbook chapters, this research subdivided the questions into 30 specific questions, and has made a 'research on the concepts that can easily be misunderstood' targeting 221 grade 2 high-school students, majoring natural science, in S high-school, located in Dongjak-Gu, Seoul. The research will compare the acquired data with the data from former researches, and after doing so, the research will present opinions about what preconcepts are needed to be confirmed before classes in order to create an effective class for the students within the constitutional views. The questions were chosen from the questions which were formerly printed in papers such as the Chemistry Educators'' Society Report, and the construction of the questionnaire were as follows : Questions on electrolyte (1 Question), questions on acid and base (4 Questions), questions on neutralization reactions (5 Questions), questions on the reaction speed (5 Questions), questions on the oxidation and restoration (5 Questions), questions on fusion (5 Questions), questions on heat (2 Questions), questions on mole (5 Questions). There were total of 30 specified questions and 25~30 minutes were given to solve these questions. The grade 2 students in their latter semester has already learned about these contents in their middle-school and grade 1 chemistry classes, and since the questions listed above were mostly constructed by those contents, the rate of finding the correct answers were high and also took shorter time to solve, but when solving the questions on the fusion, heat, and especially mole, since these were questions that they never seen before, the students did not easily find the correct answer even we gave them long time to solve. This can be the questions to analyse the preconcepts and misconcepts. The summary on the misconcepts are as follows.1. About acid, base and neutralization reactions, many students thought that the acid and the base, which are the electrolytes 'must exist in molecule structure in order to obtain its properties', and they lacked the understanding of the strong acids and the weak acids, making them have lots of misconcepts.2. In the reaction speed, many were confused with the relation between the reaction speed and the total quantity of the products, making 'if the reaction speed is quicker, the total quantity of the products are larger' a main misconcept.3. Most wrong concepts related with burning and dissolving were usually related with generalizing specific experiences, and in these cases, although they learned about them in classes, the misconcepts did not change afterwards.4. In the concepts on the mole, the grade 2 students did not learn about them yet, so the lack of preconcepts in the number of molecules and the number of atoms, and the lack of understanding in the relationship between the mole and volumes. The results of this research can not be considered as a general understanding of the majority of students'' level, but since it has set the target to normal equalized grade 2 high-school students, majoring natural science, it will be able to act as a basic data for making an effective structure for teachers to study, letting them to create an effective coaching methods for the students of this specific period, and future research on the misconceptswhich focuses closer to the students should be required afterwards.
