As the importance of each medical step in hospital is emphasized, the importance of Prehospital Care Report, which records the initial condition of patients, is also revaluated as the basis for diagnosing patients. In order to make a Prehospital Care Report, take its full role as a medical record, all questions must be answered accurately and completely. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for developing a standardized reporting format that can increase the efficiency of sharing emergency medical information. From September to November, 2005, the change in answering rate for each question in the Prehospital Care Report of C University Hospital was observed. In addition, the answering frequency for common questions such as the occupation of patient, the location of patient, the symptom of patient and the area of emergency treatment was analyzed. The result of analyzing the Prehospital Care Report was as follows; 1. The analysis on the contents of rescue report showed that there were more female patients using rescuing service than male patients. Most of the patients were between 50 to 70 years of age. For the occupation of patients, 'inoccupation' marked the most, while 'in home' marked the most for the location of patient with 63.5%. The most common symptom was 'pain' with 43.6%, while the most common emergency treatment was 'making the patient relax' with 47.1%. 2. Questions with high answering rate were the position of rescue team (97%), name of patient (98%), name of patient's receiver (97%), name of transporting agency (96%), age and gender of patient (90~92%), address of patient (91%), location of patient (87%) and state of consciousness (85%). Questions with low answering rate were the doctor's direction (0%), living signs (5%), pupil reaction (21%), body parts exposed to accident (15%) and the name of reporter (12%). 3. Compared to the previous rescue report, questions including occupation, resident registration number and the name of patient's receiver showed more than a 10% increase in answering rate. On the other hand, questions including the reporting method, name of guardian, relationship & point of contact and specific remarks showed more than a 10% drop. The answering rate of other questions didn't change significantly, suggesting that the improvement made by the new Prehospital Care Report is insignificant. The answering rate for the new Prehospital Care Report wasn't improved much. Also, the order of questions neither followed the frequency of questions nor the alphabetic order. It is considered that rescuing crew will have a hard time finding an appropriate question. In order to develop a standardized Prehospital Care Report, questions in it must be made more specific and objective
