This research puts the purpose in giving the wide information of dental treatment for the pediatric patient by using the conscious sedation, along with the examination of the conscious sedation, which was recently carried out in the pediatric dentistry, the enhancement of the satisfaction through understanding the needs of the pediatric patient's guardian, and the facilitation of the positive collaboration in the dental treatment. The researcher, I visited the pediatric dentistry of K University hospital, located in D city, and set the 100 guardians of pediatric patients who have received the dental treatment, using conscious sedation as the subjects of research. In order to do accurate comparison of satisfaction, questionnaire survey was conducted towards the guardians of pediatric patients who have had the experience of regular dental treatment. Results were obtained through the analysis of the investigation from February 2, 2009 to April 30, 2009. There was a significant difference in the conscious sedation according to the recognition of the guardians of pediatric patients. It shows that guardians' satisfaction appeared, showing a significant difference(p<0.05) when they thought that conscious sedation would be safe(p<0.05). In terms of the satisfaction, depending on the general features of the guardians of pediatric patients, satisfaction was high, showing a significant difference as the age of the guardian was younger (p<0.05). Among the main motives that make the guardians of pediatric patients choose the treatment, using conscious sedation, satisfaction was 60.9%, and high satisfaction was 39.0% in the percentage of satisfaction in case of choosing the reason of dental treatment due to the severe rejection of pediatric patients towards the dental treatment. Satisfaction was 61.3%, and high satisfaction was 38.6% in case of choosing the conscious sedation because many teeth are in need of dental treatment. Accordingly, the statistically significant results were obtained by finding that satisfaction was high in the order of the strong rejection of a pediatric patients and many teeth in need of treatment (p <0.05). In response to the question about the willingness to the recommendation to others, the recommendation willingness appeared to be high as guardian was younger, showing a significant difference (p <0.05). As a result of analyzing the overall satisfaction of a guardian through conscious sedation in the dental treatment and factors that have the effect on the satisfaction through linear regression analysis, satisfaction appeared to be high as the guardians of pediatric patients thought that conscious sedation would be safe. As a result, it was analyzed that safety would affect the satisfaction (p <0.05). Considering the results, it reveals that the effect of reducing the fear of children became the motivation of guardians in choosing conscious sedation for the dental treatment of pediatric patients. Accordingly, it is judged that the treatment should focus on the reduction of children's fear and anxiety in choosing the patients to whom conscious sedation is applied. In addition, it is important to establish the correct recognition through giving the right information in terms of safety of conscious sedation.
