In this study, an experiment is performed for the evaluation of influential factors on the efficiency of nitrate removal by electrolysis method under different conditions such as current intensity, distance between electrodes, change of catalytic plates, and initial nitrate concentration. The results of the experiment show the removal of nitrate in water by electrolysis is effective in technical aspect, and they are below in details. (1) The increase of current intensity up to 0.1A∼0.5A lead to the increase of nitrate removal rate, but damage to aluminum anode electrode occurs as the current intensity increases. (2) Because the increase of distance between electrodes lead to the increase of resistance, more voltage is needed, which is connected to power consumption. Thus it is necessary to minimize the distance between electrodes as far as possible. (3) The mixed ratios of catalytic Pd and Cu do not show the different results in nitrate removal efficiency, but further research on the mixed ratio is necessary. (4) When the initial concentrations of nitrate are 10mg/l, 15mg/l and 30mg/l, hourly removal amounts of nitrate are 3.9mg/hr, 4.7mg/hr and 6.5mg/hr, respectively, which indicate that the removal amount of nitrate increases as the initial concentration increases.
