The purpose of this paper is to focus on compound sentence, verb agreement and non-manual signals to cast light on the characteristics of realization of complex sentence in the Korean sign language. For this purpose, the paper collected and analyzed the bibliographical data and Internet discourse data. The research result from the data is as follows: First, compound sentence in the Korean sign language can be divided into coordinate compound sentence and subordinate compound sentence. For realization of the relation of array in the coordinate sentence, {End} is used as the predicate of the precedent clause, a conjunction {And} is used, or the paused is placed in the precedent clause. For realization of the relation of contrast, the pause is placed in the end of the precedent clause, the conjunction {But} is used, a pair of contrasted words is placed before and after the sentence. For realization of the relation of alternativeness, {Or} or {One of both} is realized as the predicate. For realization of the causal relation in the subordinate compound sentence, the pause, with the final shape of the mouth in the previous clause kept, is placed, the conjunction {Because} is used, the non-manual signals such as head nodding and pause are used. For realization of the relation of condition, head nodding, pause, the shape of mouth for the conditional clause are used or the adverbs {If} and {Perhaps} are placed in the head of the sentence. And the infinite sign language or the adverb {Surely} is used. For realization of the relation of intention, head nodding or the pause is placed after the verb {purpose}, {Want}. And also the verb {Become} is used as the predicate of the precedent clause. For realization of the relation of concession, the phrase [Be no problem] is used and the non-manual sign, with the eyes almost closed and the brow narrowed, is used. Second, for realization of the complex sentence by verb agreement, the types of simple sentence are used. This results from the synchronized combination of the agreed verbs. In the case of the composition of the complex sentence by agreed verbs, the direction of the movement of a verb is changed according to the agent and patient, or the nominative and the accusative. In particular, the subject-verb agreement appears. In the case of the verb {Speak}, if the speaker is the first person, the starting point is the body of the speaker and the space in front of the speaker’s body is the ending point. If the speaker is the second person, the starting point is the space in the front of the speaker’s body, and the front of the body is the ending point. In the case of the verb {Meet}, setting the direction is necessary to specify an argument. If the speaker is the first person, the starting point is the body of the speaker and the ending point is the space in front of the body. If the speaker is the second person, it is the opposite in the case of the first person. However, if the speaker is the observer, in the case of the verb {Speak}, the space in front of the body is taken aside for the first or third person, with one hand moving rightward and leftward. In the case of the verb {Meet}, the both hands move together and meet at the center of the body. And the relationship of one to one and the relationship of one to many are made. In the case of the verb {Bi-li-da}, the hands and the end parts of the fingers move in the opposite direction. In the Korean sign language, the gender designates {Male} and {Female} as the semantic property; {Male} largely functions as the pronoun of the ‘animate’ object. Third, the complex sentences realized along with non-manual signals in the Korean sign language includes quotation sentence, compound sentence and cleft sentence. The quotation sentence largely depends on the direct quotation. In the case of predicative sentence, it is expressed by head nodding, and included in the precedent clause. In the composition of the compound sentence, the non-manual signals includes head nodding, head bowing, and the combination of the both, which realizes the coordinate compound sentence and the subordinate compound sentence. In particular, the head nodding and heading bowing function as the predicate of the precedent clause. And also, in the case of the focused, a particular noun moves to the end of the sentence. It is accompanied by such non-manual signals as head nodding and pause at the end of the indefinite noun and the sentence. In the case of topics, a particular noun is placed, accompanies by such non-manual signals as head nodding and pause. This research result tells that the in providing linguistic education with deaf and dumb students, it is right to educate by comparing the grammatical characteristics of the Korean sign language which is different from the Korean language in realization of complex sentence with those of the Korean and that educators of deaf and dumb students and their translators need to pay attention to the syntactic characteristics of the Korean sign language before giving linguistic education to them.
