ABSTRACT A study of mission activation in non-christion university A case study of Konkuk university glocal campus and Kondae mission church CHOI, IN SEOB Doctor of Ministry The Graduate School of Theology, Hanshin University This paper examines mission activation in non-Christian University. It is differentiated from any other studies based on mission activation in Christian University. As introduction, the first chapter provides the issue, purpose, method, and criteria of this study. The second chapter discusses a history of mission in University and an importance of mission in University as theological mission in University. Also, mission history of a global University and Korea is introduced. Furthermore, it is said that the theology of University Mission and a mission and leadership for a minister. The third, a mission theology in University and campus minister of calling, leadership. This chapter is established about calling of campus minister and leadership focused university mission theology by concept of Missio Dei. The fourth, the activities of Kon-Kuk University and Kondae Mission Church are focused as an observation of this paper: the group of Christian professors and staffs in Kon-Kuk University, the Christian union, campus chapel, missionary organizations, and KCF. Also, as an activity in non-Christian University, Kondae Mission Church is presented as well. The fifth chapter is a case study regarding to non-Christian University: Dae Jeon Kaist Church, Kyung Buk University Church, Foreign Study University Church, Korea University Church, National University Church, and Kwang Woon University. And, this chapter provides the method of revitalization for mission in non-Christian University; The first, it is the paradigm shift in campus mission. the second, it is a development of the specialized mission University. The third is an operation of specialized living areas. The fourth, it is revitalization of a Christian group in University, union, and alumni association. The fifth, the union of mission groups, local church, and other groups in University. The sixth is the revitalization of network with all national Universities. The seventh, the Korean church’s care and mission on non-Christian University is important. The eighth, the encouragement to missionary and fund raising for long-term mission is needed. The ninth, the trial of chapel and a lecture for mission as general courses is it. The last is developing short-term mission work for global mission. As a conclusion, the last chapter is a summary and a suggestion. As an appendix, the current religion condition of Universities in Korea and the lecture plan as a general course in Foreign Study University are added. This study is produced the movement for build-up Christianity in non-Christian University. Although this is narrow, it will be a new paradigm on University mission. Moreover, it encourages church in Korea to take care of college mission as much as they can. It could be a good chance to both. Also, Korean-Christian associates’ attention is needed. Lastly, there is an example that non Christian University has a lecture as a general course in oversea. The people who work in non Christian Universities have a wish and work to open a Christian lecture officially as the other University does.
