The 21st century, as an era of creativity, is in demand for human beings who can think in a creative and integrated manner in order to adapt to the trends of the time. Accordingly, applying definite demarcation between academic fields are regarded as an inheritance of conventional way of thinking. In addition, increased interest in integrated subjects or integrated approaches are being reflected in implementing the 7th National Curriculum. Thus, integrated educational attempts are actively being carried out in the education field. However, aspects such as new forms of curriculum, educational environment and teaching-learning methods are not actively researched, as most studies are focused only on the integration between disciplines. Moreover, film education, which meets the demand of the time for fostering creative talents, are not being implemented in ways that fully demonstrate its functions in spite of its importance, but are simply carried out as aesthetic enjoyment from mere experience. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to study about the instructional methods for effective lessons through an integrated educational program of film education and other subjects focusing on the educational functions of film. To this end, this study first examined the theoretical background of integrated education and film education, and then, suggested an example of integrated educational program of film education and Middle school ethics and Korean. Through this example, the present study inquired into the ways for more effective implementation of integrated education and also considered the fundamentals and importance that film education, as a creative and integrated thinking required by modern society, must reclaim in school education.
