This study was carried out to obtain the fundamental data for the safety evaluation by investigating the residual properties of methoxyfenoxide. A experiment was peformed by HPLC/UVD to determine the residue amount of methoxyfenozide in brown rice and rice straw harvested after treatment of tricyclazole + validamycin-A + methoxyfenozide 29(20+5+4)% during rice plat cultivation. At the optimum condition of HPLC/UVD, retention time of methoxyfenozide was 11.3 min. And standard calibration curve was graped on the basis of peak area of HPLC chromatogram. The curve was a linear regression equation which was Y = 3968.4X - 5801.2 and the regression coefficient of 0.9997 was a highly positive correlation between concentration and peak area. The average recovery rate of methoxyfenozide in brown rice was ranged from 88.7% ~ 99.6% that in rice straw was ranged from 92.8% ~ 107.0%. And a limit of detection(LOD) was 0.005 mg kg-1 in case of brown rice and that was 0.01 mg kg-1 in case of rice straw, respectively. A precision of this analysis experiment is very high as 1.5% ~ 7.1% of a relative standard deviation. The storage stability of brown rice and rice straw was comparatively stable as 84.5% ~ 88.5% and 93.9% ~ 98.5%, respectively. Residual amount of methoxyfenozide in brown rice was 0.17 mg kg-1 when the insecticide was treated four times at 30, 21, 14, and 7 day before harvest, and that in rice straw was 0.65 mg kg-1 when the chemicals were treated three times at 30, 21, and 14 day before harvest. These residual amount is below maximum residue limit(MRL) of 1.0 mg kg-1 recommended by Ministry of food and drug administration.
