The students received a total of 14 sessions of group therapy, each 80-90 minutes from November 24th, 2012 to February 23th, 2013. Firstly, to investigate the influences of group art therapy on adolescent depression, pre-test and post-test were carried out to measure the depression scale among the participants. For individual students, their changing process for each step was compared to Kinetic-house-tree-person(KHTP). Secondly, to explore the influences of group therapy on adolescent self-esteem, this study compared self-esteem scale, individual's changing process for each step and KHTP. The findings of this study are as follows. The group art therapy is indicated to be effective in relieving adolescent depression. The post-test results show that the depression scores have decreased in all participants. As the session went on, the participants became more confident so that they could express themselves more actively and expose their own inner injury to outside. In this process, they experienced emotional catharsis and the dynamics of the group had a positive influence on each member of the group. As a result, the depressed feelings have been resolved. The group art therapy is indicated to be effective in improving self-esteem after completion of group art therapy. The self-esteem scale test results show that post-test scores have improved in all participants. As the therapy went on, the participants had tendency to design their future plan as a owner of their life overcoming dysfunctional thinking patterns depending on others. Moreover, they recognized and developed their positive personal traits, and established a robust self-image, so that they could enhance their own self-esteem. This study was conducted for the purpose of helping today's adolescents achieve the desirable ego state and recover humanity. The findings of this study could provide the adolescents with guidance to overcome emotional conflicts and to live happily with healthy and positive thought.
