This study was carried out to estimate the environmental effect affected carcass traits for improvement of quality in Hanwoo. The data used in this study were 9,807 records on Hanwoo slaughtered from 2008 to July 2013. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov(K-S) test carried out for carcass traits. Year of birth, season of birth, year of slaughter, season of slaughter, slaughter month were used as fixed effects in this study. The correlations for carcass traits were used in Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows. 1. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov(K-S) test for carcass traits were 0.02 for carcass weight, 0.06 for eye muscle area, 0.09 for backfat thickness, 0.17 for marbling score, 0.05 for yield index. 2. The overall mean and standard deviation were 436.1±48.2kg for carcass weight, 93.7±11.6cm2 for loin eye area, 15.3±6.3mm for backfat thickness, 6.6±2.0. for marbling score, 63.6±4.5 for yield index. 3. The analysis of variance(ANOVA) for environmental factors were significant in all carcass traits(p<0.05). 4. The least squares means of carcass weight for year of birth were heavier as 440.7±0.95kg and 439.8±1.12kg in 2009 and 2010, respectively. The least squares means of eye muscle area for year of birth were extensive as 97.3±0.27cm2 in 2010. The least squares means of backfat thickness for year of birth were thin as 12.2±1.02mm in 2011 and of marbling score for year of birth were higher as 7.2±0.23, 7.0±0.07 and 7.0±0.05 in 2005, 2006, 2010, respectively, of yield index for year of birth were higher as 66.5±0.71 in 2011. 5. The least squares means of carcass weight, eye muscle area, marbling score for season of birth were higher as 439.5±0.81kg, 94.8±0.20cm2, 6.8±0.03 in spring, respectively. 6. The least squares means of carcass weight for year of slaughter were heavier as 441.7±1.04kg in 2012, of backfat thickness for year of slaughter were thin as 14.6±0.22mm in 2013. The least squares means of marbling score for year of slaughter were higher as 7.1±0.09, 7.0±0.04 and 6.9±0.05 in 2008, 2012, 2009, respectively, of yield index for year of slaughter were higher as 64.5±0.16 in 2013. 7. The least squares means of carcass weight for season of slaughter were heavier as 436.6±1.03kg in spring, of backfat thickness for season of slaughter were heavier as 15.8±0.12mm in winter. The least squares means of marbling score for season of slaughter were higher as 6.7±0.04 in fall, of yield index for season of slaughter were higher as 63.3±0.85 in winter. 8. The least squares means of carcass weight and eye muscle area for slaughtering age were higher as 446.5±46kg and 95.4±0.37cm2 under 34 mon-old-age, of backfat thickness for slaughtering age were thin as 12.9±0.28mm under 28 mon-old-age. The least squares means of marbling score for slaughtering age were higher as 6.8±0.04 in 31 mon-old-age, of yield index for slaughtering age were higher as 65.1±0.20 under 28 mon-old-age. 9. The correlation between carcass weight and others that is eye muscle area, backfat thickness, marbling score and meat quantity index were observed 0.49, 0.43, 0.23 and –0.46. The correlation between eye muscle area and others that is backfat thickness, marbling score and meat quantity index were observed 0.07, 0.45, 0.15. The correlation between backfat thickness and others that is marbling score and meat quantity index were observed 0.13, -0.95. The correlation between marbling score and meat quantity index were observed –0.02 10. Environmental factor for hanwoo carcass traits on birth year, birth season, slaughter year, slaughter season and slaughter month were observed significantly to affect, In particular, Effect of environmental factor by season is thought to affect carcass weight highly. Slaughter month more increased, carcass weight and eye muscle area more increased. On the other hand, backfat thickness have observed thick, marbling score to be not changed after 31 mon-old-age that was obsereved fattening period shorthen is thought to adjust the shipping date help for farmers' income. By using the data of more objects, to derive a high analysis of objective and accurate, it is believed that utilization value of the field increases.
