. A Study on Daily Living Physical Performance and Depression of the Old People Participated in Sport for All Program Kwon Minjung Department of Sports Coaching Graduate School of Industry, Myongji University Directed by Professor Park Taeseop This study conducted aerobic exercise and band exercise targeting aged females who were participating in sports-for-all programs in order to analyze the participants’ physical, psychological and social changes. What the study would find out will be used as basic references to define relations of sports activities with life quality. The study provided these aged females at the age of 65 and older who were joining a senior health promotion program of a general welfare center located in Y City with descriptions on its research purposes and procedures. Of the 60 aged females who had agreed to participate in the research, 57 who have been joining the exercise as often as 80% or more of the total anticipated number of participation were selected as the final participants and, the study carried out a survey on depression, Senior Fitness Test (SFT), Physical Function Test, Korean Health Status (Fragility) Evaluation , Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) and Senior Fitness Test (SFT) targeting those final participants. Samples were collected from November 1 of 2014 to February 28 of 2015 and as for the samples, the study processed them via a statistical analysis using SPSS WIN 20.0 Program. Scheff-test was used for a post-hoc test. Findings of the research are summarized as below. Based on the exercise groups and age, the study made comparisons on differences and changes of the aged participants in sports for all before and after their participation in the exercises, and the comparisons basically focused on differences in Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), Senior Fitness Test (SFT), health status and depression. Results of the comparisons revealed that as for Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Senior Fitness Test (SFT), it was the exercise groups that would lead to changes but in terms of depression, only the age brought about statistically significant outcomes. In the light of that, the study now suggests that any relevant fields should design practical lifelong education programs for health promotion of the seniors, and such support system will make a contribution to how the aged try to maximize efficiency of their successful aging as enjoying leisure activities.
