This study tried to consider effects of parental conversational modes and emotional expression on children's personality. Subjects of the study are 380 middle and high school students in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. The collected questionnaires were 376 copies. 311 copies were analyzed except the 49 ones that response was insufficient and 16 copies that children do not have a parent or both of their parents. For a statistical program, SPSS WIN 21.0 program was used. A correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted at the significance level of p< .05. Major results of the study were briefly summarized as follow: 1. Parental conversational modes have found to have a positive relationship with children's personality. Fathers' opened conversational modes have found to be a correlation in order of children's morality, emotion (emotionality), and sociality. Mothers' opened conversational modes have found to have meaningful results in order of emotion (emotionality). sociality, and morality of children's personality. Children's morality has found to be the most meaningful negative problem-oriented conversational modes have also found to have the greatest effect on children's morality. 2. It was analyzed that parental emotional expression has a meaningful relationship with children's personality. Fathers' positive emotional expression has found to be shown in order of emotion (emotionality), society, and morality of children's personality. Mothers' positive emotional expression has found to have the greatest effect on sociality and positive correlations were shown in order of emotion (emotionality) and morality. Children's mortality has found that the highest negative correlation coefficient is shown in fathers' emotional expression. Sociality and emotion (emotionality) have found that the same numerical values of positive correlation coefficients in were shown in mothers' positive expression.
