In 2015, supermarket industry has suffered due to slow growth, affrightment of MERS(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), and devaluation of Chinese yuan. The retailers, which had a rebound in April and May, however, showed a downturn again in June due to the influence of MERS. Supermarkets are concentrated in consumer sentiment to proceed with large-scale promotions in order to overcome the difficult retail environment as well as targeting overseas expansion.
