This dissertation examined the relationship among ethical leadership, supervisory trust, felt obligation, helping behavior, and job performance. More specifically, this dissertation examined the effects of ethical leadership on helping behavior, job performance, and felt obligation. It also examined the mediating effect in the relationship between ethical leadership and helping behavior and job performance. And this dissertation examined the moderating effect of supervisory trust in the relationship between ethical leadership and felt obligation. This study proposed eight hypotheses: (1) Hypothesis 1: Ethical leadership will be positively related to helping behavior; (2) Hypothesis 2: Ethical leadership will be positively related to job performance; (3) Ethical leadership will be positively related to felt obligation; (4) Hypothesis 4: Felt obligation will be positively related to helping behavior; (5) Hypothesis 5: Felt obligation will be positively related to job performance; (6) Hypothesis 6-1: Felt obligation will mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and helping behavior; (7) Hypothesis 6-2: Felt obligation will mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and job performance; and (8) Hypothesis 7: Supervisory trust will moderate the relationship between ethical leadership and felt obligation. Data were collected from 259 employees of the banks in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Results of this dissertation are as follows: First, ethical leadership had a positive effect on helping behavior; Second, ethical leadership had a positive effect on job performance; Third, ethical leadership had a positive effect on felt obligation; Fourth, felt obligation had a positive effect on helping behavior; Fifth, felt obligation had a positive effect on job performance; Sixth, felt obligation partially mediated the relationship between ethical leadership and helping behavior; Seventh, felt obligation fully mediated the relationship between ethical leadership and job performance; and Eighth, supervisory trust did not moderate the relationship between ethical leadership and felt obligation. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications for the results of this dissertation were discussed.
