This study examined the degree of PR professionalism perceived by domestic PR practitioners through three dimensions (individual, organization, and industry) and examined how they differ according to each dimension. In addition, after verifying how the perception of PR professionalism affects job satisfaction, job engagement, and turnover intention, the interactive effects of PR professionalism, job satisfaction and job engagement on turnover intention was identified. Finally, it was reviewed if the relation between perception of PR practitioners on PR professionalism and job satisfaction, job engagement and turnover intention was different according to organizational type (client vs. agency). To do this, online and mobile surveys were conducted on 'Client practitioners' and 'agency practitioners', and 202 responses were used for the final analysis. The followings are the results of the study. First, PR practitioners perceived PR professionalism in the order of the dimension of individual, organization, and industry. Second, PR professionalism at the individual and industry level had a statistically significant positive effect on job satisfaction, and PR professionalism at the individual and organizational level had a statistically significant positive effect on job engagement. Organizational PR professionalism had a negative impact on turnover intention, and industrial PR professionalism had a statistically significant positive impact on turnover intention. In addition, the interaction between perception of PR professionalism and job satisfaction and job engagement had an effect on turnover intention. In particular, organizational and industrial PR professionalism had a positive interactive effect on job satisfaction and job engagement. Third, the aforementioned relationship between perception of PR professionalism and job satisfaction, job engagement, and turnover intention was found to be different according to organizational type. In the case of the client practitioner, the personal PR professionalism had a statistically significant positive effect on job satisfaction and job engagement. The organizational PR professionalism had a negative effect on the turnover intention, and the industrial PR professionalism had a statistically significant positive effect on the turnover intention. In the case of the agency practitioner, the PR professionalism of the individual level had a statistically significant effect on the job engagement and turnover intention, and industrial PR professionalism had a statistically significant effect on job satisfaction and job engagement but it made a negative effect on turnover intention. In particular, except for industrial PR professionalism and job engagement of agency practitioners, it was found that interaction between PR professionalism and job satisfaction, and job engagement appeared to affect turnover intention in the practitioners in both organizations. However, in the case of client practitioners, all three levels of PR professionalism showed positive interactions with job satisfaction and job engagement, while in the agency practitioners, individual and organizational PR professionalism made negative interactions with job satisfaction and job engagement. Although industrial and organizational PR professionalism were found to have close relationship with job satisfaction, job engagement, and turnover intention, the perception level was relatively low compared to the perception of individual PR professionalism. This suggests that domestic PR industry should enhance its professionalism and manage PR organizations in order to have overall professionalism. Besides, there was difference according to organizational type not only in the perception on PR professionalism but also effect of PR professionalism on job satisfaction, job engagement and turnover intention, and interactions between PR professionalism and job satisfaction and job engagement. Therefore, a more careful approach is needed to propose appropriate practical improvement measures for each type of organization. This study is meaningful in that it examined various aspects of perception on PR professionalism of PR practitioners in the dimension of individual, organizational, and industry level and verified the effects on the job of practitioners, and divided the PR practitioners according to the type of organization and examined their perceptions more specifically.
