The purpose of this study is to identify how an out-of-school adolescent with difficulty in anger management expresses emotions, understands them through experience of art therapy and what art therapy means to her life. Thus, an out-of-school adolescent with difficulty in anger management was selected as a participant. The researcher conducted 36 sessions of art therapy once or twice a week from October 2016 to June 2017. Art therapy was conducted non-structurally and a participant had opportunities to determine her own themes and express them whatever she wants to show. The researcher conducted research in the order of five steps of methods of narrative inquiry including ‘Entering the field,’ ‘From the field to the field text’, ‘Organizing the field text’, ‘From the field text to the research text’, and ‘Writing research text’, proposed by Clandinin and Connelly. The researcher summarized seven subcategories on the process of art therapy experiences of an out-of-school adolescent. Based on the analyzed research texts, the implications of art therapy experiences are summarized as , , , and Conclusions from this study are summarized as follows. First, an out-of-school adolescent had opportunities to experience for engrossing in producing creative works through the process of art therapy, solved emotions related with her angers, and managed feelings. Second, an out-of-school adolescent could cope with difficulties associated with death through specific artworks for the purpose of commemoration. Her spontaneous and positive internal dynamics were identified. Third, an out-of-school adolescent could use a variety of instruments through non-structured art therapy programs and express her energy creatively. Fourth, an out-of-school adolescent could explore dreams through art therapy and recognize her self growth. These conclusions indicate that an out-of-school adolescent with difficulty in anger management could control her emotions safety and explore the meaning of life on her own through art therapy. This study is expected to be used as a single valuable data that helps many domestic and overseas adolescents who are currently psychologically unstable after they go out of school.
