As a way to develop and foster human resources, coaching is widely practiced across various fields. It is often used to promote the growth and development of both individuals and organizations. This type of coaching has created positive impacts on the development and innovation of the members of organizations in a variety of ways. In particular, one type of coaching encourages individual innovation as related to organizational performance. In this case, the core elements of coaching focus on improving self-awareness at a cognitive level and gaining emotional control of one’s psychological dimension. Self-awareness is not only the foundation of success for both individuals and organizations, but also increases the probability of demonstrating effective leadership. Furthermore, it facilitates members’ability to understand and enhance their core values, strengths, and talents in order to achieve their individual goals. Thus, it truly assists them in accomplishing their ultimate goals. Additionally, the ability to control one’s emotions is an important skill, affecting rational thinking and sensible decision-making. Therefore, it can help prevent negative feelings from impacting work performance at the organization. For all these reasons, this research developed a new coaching method called Mind Visualization (mental visualization coaching: MV Coaching Program), which can lead organizational innovation, fundamentally transforming individuals, through effectively raising self-awareness, minimizing resistance, and managing emotions. The team verified the method’s effectiveness through a field study. The following specific tasks were performed in order to develop and verify the Mind Visualization Coaching Program. First of all, this research proposed a new approach to mental visualization coaching, based on the theories of visualized thinking, visual intelligence, and art therapy. Secondly, in order to create successful results, this MV coaching program was designed to promote and maintain the changes taking place in the clients, using the underlying principle of the mental visualization training approach. Thirdly, this research was carried out in two parts: the effects on the process, and the outcomes determined through field study, in order to verify its effectiveness. Specifically, the process effects refer to the changes that take place in clients during the coaching period. These can ultimately affect the outcome of coaching. For the process effects, the rapport, resistance, and self-awareness of clients were monitored. Meanwhile, the outcome effects were validated through the changes that took place in the clients after the coaching was completed, based the variables of self-esteem, organizational self-esteem, and self-efficacy in controlling one’s emotions. The following is the result of a field study conducted on 96 female workers in a domestic service industry. Firstly, the MV coaching program had positive impacts on the process effects of rapport, resistance, and self-awareness, as well as the outcome effects of self-esteem, organizational self-esteem, and self-efficacy in controlling emotions overall. Secondly, after verifying the differences in the results of each of the two test groups: the first one with MV coaching and the second one following a normal program as a control group, the former experienced much larger positive impacts on self-awareness, rapport, resistance, self-efficacy in controlling emotions self-esteem, and organizational self-esteem, when compared with the latter. In other words, by employing the mental visualization approach, the MV coaching program allowed participants to visualize client experience and provide them with visual insight, thus promoting ways to systematize clients’ meanings, recognize their significance, and make necessary changes. This research is noteworthy in terms of theoretical research, as it enlarged the scope of coaching research by integrating art, and also by developing a new coaching method that employs the mental visualization approach. Moreover, by adopting the mental visualization method, not only was the effectiveness of coaching improved, but the method also enhanced self-awareness, increased self-efficacy in controlling emotions, and minimized resistance above all. Thus, this method’s significance is even greater in terms of working level.
