The purposes of this study was to investigate the physiological and psychological effects of long-term forest healing stay program. The study was conducted on 48 adults who participated in the long-term forest healing stay program at the National Center for Forest Therapy from March to November 2017. A total of four indicators were selected for the verification of effects. Physiological indicators are blood pressure, body composition, and heart rate variability(HRV). Psychological indicators is depression levels(BDI). The hypotheses and results of this study are as follows. First, the study showed that the systolic blood pressure decreases statistically significantly. Thus, it has been proven that ‘the long-term forest healing stay program will have a positive effect on blood pressure reduction’. Second, the study showed that the body weight, body mass index, body fat and body fat rates decreased statistically significantly. Thus, it has been proven that ‘the long-term forest healing stay program will have a positive effect on changes in the body composition’. Third, the study showed that stress index decreases statistically significantly, and although not statistically significant, it has been found that the mean heart rate decreases and HF increases. Thus, it has been proven that ‘the long-term forest healing stay program will have a positive effect on changes in the heart rate variability’. Fourth, the study showed that the levels of depression decreased statistically very significantly. Thus, it has been proven that ‘long-term forest healing stay programs will have a positive effect on relieving depression’. This study is meaningful in that it is an introductory study on the effectiveness of the long-term forest healing stay program. However, it has the limitation that it has excluded the impact of the difference in participants' personal health and free time. Therefore, based on the results of this study, data related to the long-term forest healing stay program needs to be continuously accumulated and analyzed.
