The purpose of this study is ‘The Effects of Mathematics Activity based on Storytelling on Young children's Mathematics ability, Cognitive ability and Language ability’ and to provide basic data for application and application of storytelling mathematics activities in early childhood education field. For these purpose, the research questions were set as follows. 1. What are the differences of the program effects on children's mathematics ability? 2. What are the differences of the program effects on children's cognitive ability? 3. What are the differences of the program effects on children's Language ability? The subjects of the study were 40 of five-year-old child from Y kindergarten and D kindergarten in K city(Experimental group: 20 children, Comparative group: 20 children). The mathematics activity based on storytelling was applied to experimental group and the discussion-based Mathematical activities were applied to comparative group. These experiments were conducted 20 times 6 weeks from September 10th 2018 to October 19th 2018. 'Picture test of mathematics ability for children' was used to assess children's mathematics ability, 'K-ABCⅡ' was used to assess children's cognitive ability, and 'REVT' was used to assess children's language ability. To verify the effects of mathematics activity based on storytelling for young children, data were collected through pretest and protest. Then, collected data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS WIN 20.0 program. The results of this study were as follows; First, the posttest score of the experimental group was higher than comparative group in 'total Mathematics ability', and 'algebra', 'number and arithmetic', 'geometry', 'measure' which are sub-area of Mathematic ability. Second, the posttest score of the experimental group was higher than comparative group in 'total cognitive ability', and 'sequential processing', 'simultaneous processing', 'learning' and 'knowledge' which are sub-area of cognitive ability. Third, the posttest scores of the experimental group was higher than comparative group in 'total language ability', and 'expressive vocabulary' and 'receptive vocabulary' which are sub-area of language ability. In conclusion, this research confirmed that the storytelling-based Mathematical activity for young children is effective to promote children's mathematics ability, cognitive ability, and language ability. This study indicates that the storytelling-based Mathematical activity is applicable and valuable to the field of early childhood education.
