Hotel Jay Customer's Behavior Influencing Turn-Over Intention -Task Stress of Hotel F&B Employees as an Intervening Variablet
Lee Min-jung Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management The Graduate School of Tourism Sejong University
The purpose of this study is to study how poor customer behavior can affect the job history and turnover of hotel food and beverage employees. As bad customer behavior has emerged as a social problem, studies are under way that customers have a negative impact on businesses. The word "Jaycustomer" is used to classify members, service providers and other customers as outliers who intentionally negatively affect them, and Jaycustomer is defined as consumers who demand excessive compensation from consumers who attack a company's weaknesses, and consumers who demand excessive compensation from the concerned parties for defective products Many companies and workers are being hurt by the results. Among other things, hotel employees who are at the forefront of customer contact suffer from severe depression and emotional exhaustion because they are faced with a kind and polite manner while ignoring the customer's rude behavior in order to provide the best service to customers. To achieve the purpose of the study, the research was based on prior research and empirical analysis related to hotel customer defect behavior, job stress and turnover of the hotel's food and beverage staff. The survey was completed after distributing the questionnaire for about seven months based on prior studies of dissertations, books of various kinds, academic journals, and articles at home and abroad. A total of 300 food and beverage employees at a Seoul-based special first-class hotel used 299 parts for the final analysis, excluding one sample of insincere responses. Specific empirical analysis methods for conducting this study are as follows. First, a Frequency Analysis was performed to identify the demographic characteristics of the sample. Second, to confirm the validity and reliability of the concept, an exploration factor analysis and reliability analysis were performed. Third, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted to demonstrate the impact relationship between concepts in this study to identify their influence among concepts. The results of the hypothesis verification of this study are as follows: First, violent behavior and ignoring behavior of customer's bad behavior were found to have a significant impact on anxiety stress and atrophy stress. Second, it was analyzed that unstable stress had a significant influence on turnover, but atrophy stress had no significant influence on turnover. Third, violent behavior had no significant influence on turnover, but it was found that ignoring behavior had a significant influence on turnover. In addition, the verification of the mediated effects of task stress resulted in the mediated effects of anxiety and atrophy of stress between the client's disregard behavior and turnover. As the results of the hypothesis verification show that the behavior of the defective customer in the luxury hotel has a significant impact on the staff's job stress and intention to move, a more detailed countermeasure should be taken against the attitude of the customer at the hotel level to develop a manual that hotel staff can actively respond to. Therefore, hotels need more careful management of them and need to develop a management system to receive psychological consulting on a regular basis.
