The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of stress on sexual addiction and the mediating active coping strategy and self-control. It is hypothesized that stress situations will affect sexual addiction. It was also hypothesized that active coping strategy and self-control would influence mediators between stress and sexual addiction. To test the hypothesis of the study, the study subjects collected and analyzed data by conducting a self-report questionnaire for 300 adults aged 20 to 39 years. The scales used for the study were the perceived stress scale, the stress coping scale, brief self-control scale, and the online sexual addiction scale. For data analysis method, correlation analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were performed using spss 22.0, and the path coefficient of the confirmed research model was verified by verifying the structural equation model through Amos 22.0. Boottrapping was analyzed to verify whether the active coping strategy and self-control were statistically significant as mediators. The research results are as follows. First, the lack of self-control showed a significant positive correlation with stress and sex addiction. Recognize stress as a situation under your control and accept it as a way to overcome the negative emotions that arise when it causes stress. Therefore, people with low self-control are at increased risk of falling into sexual addiction. Second, active coping strategy showed significant negative correlation with sex addiction. When a stressful event is thought to be in control, a problem-driven proactive approach is used to eliminate and resolve the cause. The more active you are in a stressful situation, the lower your risk of sexual addiction. Third, in order to verify the mediating effect of self-control and active coping strategy in the relationship between stress and sex addiction, a structural model was established and verified through Bootstrapping. Self-control is completely mediated in the relationship between stress and sex addiction. Stress affects sexual addiction through self-control. Self-control has been shown to have a dual mediating effect on coping with stress and sexual addiction. The significance of this study was to identify self-control and active coping strategy as variables for sexual addiction. In domestic studies, studies on sexual addiction were scarce compared to those in foreign countries. This study was able to identify the variables affecting sexual addiction by examining sexual addiction. It has been shown that the study of sexual addiction can be extended by revealing that self-control and active coping strategy as mediators. Self-control and active coping strategy can be presented as a way of dealing with sexual addiction and provide milestones on counseling goals for counselors dealing with sexual addiction. Based on the variables that influenced sexual addiction, it can be used in the counseling technique of sexual addiction and shows that it can help prevent intervention of sexual addiction. In addition, the study results can be generally used by studying adult men and women rather than studying specific persons. Therefore, it is possible to improve the understanding of sexual addiction of adults who are suffering from sexual addiction. Finally, based on the results of this study, the limitations and suggestions for further study were described.
